*Kendal's POV*
I picked up my phone and re-read the message:
I really love the taste of caramel. I smiled again and thought of something to write back.
I prefer vanilla, but you should already know that :)
I left my phone in my room then headed downstairs.
__________
-following morning-
"Kenton, Kendal, Kalum! Get out of bed now!" Mum screeched across to the room. I grabbed the pillow next to me, put it over my ears, turned over then went back to my sleeping position. It wasn't long before I heard a knock on my door, which I ignored. I heard footsteps walking over in my direction, so I pretended I was asleep.
"Wake up." I felt a light nudge on my shoulder, and I slowly turned my head around.
"Oh, good, it's only you." I go back to my sleeping position again.
"Seriously, Kendal, get up!" Kalum shook me again, I shot out of bed.
"What happened?
"Mum happened, she wants us to get ready now. She even threatened to get the water bucket out if we're not awake in 5 minutes!"
"But it's only..." I read the time off the wall. "Oh, it's 10 o'clock, it feels like it's earlier though, but the wedding doesn't start for another 5 hours? What is she rushing us for?"
"No, the wedding reception starts in 5 hours, the actual wedding ceremony starts in 3 hours."
I scoffed.
"We have to go to that?"
"Well, she is our cousin after all..." Kalum reasoned.
"I hardly doubt she remembers us. Do you even remember what she looks like?" Kalum shook his head.
"Exactly, I know this sounds really bad, I just wanted to eat the party food." I laughed to myself.
"So do I!" Kalum laughed along with me.
"But, mum insists on going to going to the actual wedding as we always end up doing that, and dad's with her on this one is he is the bride's uncle. I think he's giving her away too..."
"But wait? Her dad isn't dead."
"I know, both of them are giving her away."
"Aw... That's really cute. But seriously, we have 2 hours to get there... Surely another 30 minutes extra of sleep shouldn't hurt."
"Do you know where the wedding is located? Is like on the other side Sao Pãulo, it will at least take us an hour to get there, not to mention dressing up and the other things that mum does that take ridiculously long."
"Fair enough." I jumped out of bed.
An hour and a half later, we had all showered, but we were still in our pyjamas. Mum and dad, mainly mum, actually most definitely mum doesn't want us to ruin our clothes whilst we were eating breakfast. I mean, we were 18, 15, and 14, not 9, 6 and 5, I highly doubt that- I spoke too soon. A forkful of beans landed on Kalum's pyjama shorts.
"Ha! And you wanted to dress up before you ate, Kal!" Kenton laughed hysterically, personally, I didn't think it was that funny. "Whom are you kidding!"
"Oh shut up, Ken, you've got beans on your shirt!" Kalum pointed out, Kenton looked down at his t-shirt. Now that was funny!
"See! It's not good to laugh at anyone!" I shook my head.
