Chapter XXXV: One Last Time

I followed my mum's advice and just relaxed.

I don't know why I didn't speak to her sooner, but I didn't have all the information to give her anyway. She followed through on her word and had my prescription ready by the 24th. Well, she did work in a hospital so once she had my weight and height measured she called OB/GYN department and got it sorted.

Christmas was three days of fun, food, love and memories.

I got a new camera for Christmas which I was content with.

Now it was the 27th, we were going to use this time to decompress from the mania of the holidays. However, Mateo and Valéria were hosting a new year's party. They had just moved into their new place and were no longer living with Thiago and his parents.

Before the chat with my mum, I would have been excited at the thought but now it's causing me a lot of anxiety just at the thought, so I couldn't imagine what I would be like being there. I needed to speak to my girlfriends.

I slept until about 12pm.

I haven't had a video call with Melissa, Ashley and Danielle so I decided to message them in our MSN group chat to see if they were up to it.

Hey girls!

Melissa: Hello.

Melissa answered almost answered immediately.

You're that bored huh?

Melissa: YES! You have saved me!!

I was wondering if you guys could video call.

Melissa: OF COURSE!! I've been sat my computer for an hour now.

LOL WTH?? It's only 10 am there so what time did you wake up?? (Just a reminder this story is set in 2006, so there was a 2-hour difference then but Brazil have since stopped daylight savings so in the Winter/Brazilian Summer now a 3-hour difference)

Melissa: Doesn't matter... Can we talk now?

No, let me eat some breakfast, get dressed and I'll be back. Danielle and Ashley should be here yet.

Melissa: Eurgh, fine okay. I'll be playing SIMS, ping me when you're ready.

I brushed my teeth, then headed down to make myself some breakfast.

As I walked past I saw my mum setting up, I didn't realise she would have a home visit.

"I thought you were going back to work next week?"

"I know."

"Then what's this?"

"Oh, this is a favour for a friend."

"Oh okay." I shrugged and walked to the kitchen.

I made mine and Kalum's breakfast and we ate whilst watching some tv. I showered and got dressed as I was setting up my laptop. I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I yelled as I plugged my laptop into the charger.

"Hi, Kendal." A voice behind me said.

I turned around to see it was Thiago.

"Oh hi, Thiago... I didn't know you were coming here today."

"It's been a few days, I wanted to surprise you."

"Okay, who let you up?"

"Your brother."

"Oh, I thought it would've been my mum because she was setting up. Anyway, come in." I closed the door behind him.
