Before I knew it we were back at school. The last days of the summer break were celebrating Kalum and Neymar's birthday and I experienced my first carnival here.

The boys were focused on football, but they decided to stick with school because it was their final year however, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to drop out. Football was picking up for them and with the potential offers and they were officially playing professionally now, they were receiving it would be stupid of them to stay in school just because.

Things were becoming intense for me as well, I was going to go back to London for a month and take my exams, and I was still wondering if I should stay for prom or just return to Sao Paulo once I was done. If this were 6 months ago I would have leapt at the chance to go back to London but I was really enjoying my time here and I realised how limited it was, especially time with my granddad. I only have one prom though and this would give me a chance to say goodbye to everyone properly before we all went our different paths.

David and I were happy being together officially and we were supporting each other the best way we could with the busier schedules we had. He had healed well, but he was still having therapy treatments with my mum every other week.

The day was going pretty fast, and I didn't have many classes today, a lot of today was welcoming students back, information for the new and introducing new teachers and what we going to study for the new academic year. I took this as an opportunity to revise on the English exam topics.

I caught up with Amélia and Raquel as I didn't see much of them during the break, it was kind of awkward between Maia and me, more on her part than mine, I moved on and didn't care but I guess the guilt was eating apart and she seemed miserable.

I got through a lot of content and I wanted to keep the flow going so I told everyone I would have lunch alone away from any distractions, which they understood.

I decided a sandwich would be best to eat with all the books I had and note that I needed to make.

All of sudden, a shadow formed in front of me, I looked up to see a cute girl who had the same, if not a bit darker skin tone than me. When I looked up at her, she took this as an opportunity to sit opposite me. I hadn't seen her before so she must be new or just someone who felt comfortable sitting here.

I expected her to speak first but she was busy trying to read my books.

"Um, hello?" I spoke up.

"Sorry I didn't ask if I could sit, were you expecting someone I could just move-"

"No, it's fine." I held her hand so she could stay. "Stay."

"Thanks." She smiled brightly at me.

"No problem." I noticed she had an accent, maybe she was from Rio like Thiago. Thiago told me that he moved down to São Paulo because of the contract he received for a football club here and his family took a leap of faith and decided to relocate here 2 years ago.

I was going to ask but I just wanted to get through this last section so reading my textbook whilst eating my sandwich.

When I put the book down to make some notes, I noticed she was staring.

Okay, she was kind of weird now.

"Yes?" I asked slowly.

"Are you also new here?"

"No."

"Oh, then why are all of your books and your writing in English?"

"Oh, because I'm not from here. Well, I am, half, but I was born and raised in London-"
