a/n - trigger warning for themes of suicide
Bailey, Tina, Adalynn, and Julian sat in the living room of the Hummel-Hudson house. The twins were upstairs with Kurt, most likely being taught how to properly take care of their skin. The soft patter of rain fell down on the roof, and pale moonlight floated in through the window.
"Okay, next question," Tina said as she picked up a note card. "Ooh, this is a good one. 'Where would you be if you never joined the New Directions?'"
"In jail," Julian deadpanned as he ate a handful of popcorn.
"That's so weird to think about," Bailey said, looking down at the friendship bracelet on her arm. "Well, we definitely wouldn't all be friends, that's for sure."
"I don't even want to know where I would be..." Adalynn mumbled, knowing for sure she definitely wouldn't be standing there today.

Walking through the front doors of Carmel High, Julian Hummel made his way to the cafeteria with his homework pages and a pack of matches in hand. As he passed his math teacher in the hallway, he smirked and stuck his tongue out at her.
This'll teach her, he thought as he approached a trash can.
"No homework, more freedom!" Julian yelled as he struck a match and lit the pages on fire. He dropped the burning papers into the trash can, smoke rising up as it spread to the decomposing prison food the cafeteria feeds them.
"Julian Hummel!" Abigail Figgins Gunderson yelled. "My office, immediately!"
"Remember my legacy," Julian said, pointing to a table of freshmen as they watched the junior with wide eyes.
He stood up straighter and followed the principal to her office. He knew he was in deep trouble this time, but he didn't care. Homework was stupid, and he wasn't going to waste his time on it.
Totally worth it.

As punishment for what he had done, Julian was expelled. His parents decided that they had had enough of his attitude, and decided to send him to live with his uncle and cousins.
"Jokes on you, Amanda Hummel," Julian scoffed as his mom pushed him out the door to the car. "I like Little Adalynn. She totally idolizes me."
"Watch your mouth, Julian," Amanda said as she put her son's bags in the trunk. "This is nothing to celebrate."
"Oh, well, I think it is," the 17 year old said as he got into the car. "I should be thanking you both, really."
"Julian," Curt Hummel warned. "Zip it. Your mother and I aren't putting up with this nonsense anymore."
Julian rolled his eyes and slouched down in the backseat as they drove away. If they thought that sending him to Lametown Lima would solve anything, they were wrong.
Dead. Wrong.
He wasn't going to learn his lesson. He liked playing with fire, and being shipped off to another school district wasn't going to change that.

Bailey Pierce sat on her bed writing in her notebook. Lord Tubbington was curled up next to her, purring softly when she scratched him behind the ears. In the other room, she could hear the faint sound of her sister talking to her best friend, Santana Lopez.
"I wonder what they're talking about, Lord Tubs?" the blonde pondered as she put her pen down and pulled the fat cat onto her lap. She smiled as he rubbed his head against her stomach, a smile spread across his usually emotionless features. "It must be nice being a cat, huh? You don't have to deal with stupid jocks that think it's funny to steal your private notebooks and rip all the pages out and scatter them across the football field for the whole world to see."
