a/n - i cried so much writing this chapter 😭

Flashbacks of their first ever Glee rehearsal played in Bailey and Adalynn's heads as they recreated Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat with Tina, Artie, Rachel, Kurt, and Mercedes. They did jazz hands as they finished, and the whole club clapped.

"That was the most ghetto number I have ever seen," Santana said as Quinn smiled at Adalynn.

"Why, thank you," Bailey joked, taking a bow.

"Then just call me George Jefferson, because we went from the ghetto to the penthouse," Artie said, high-fiving Adalynn. "National champs, baby!"

Everyone cheered as Mr. Schue wrote 'goodbye' on the board. Adalynn sat down next to where Quinn was sitting with the rest of the Unholy Trinity, and Bailey sat down next to Brittany.

"This weeks assignment is easy," Mr. Schue said as he turned around to face the New Directions. "Graduation is just a few days away. There's nothing left to prepare for. Our work here is done, so there's only one thing left to do... Say goodbye."

"No bye!" Maya whined as she clung tightly to Santana's Cheerios top. "Sanny, no bye!"

"I don't want to leave, Maya, but I don't have a choice," the Latina said as she kissed the older twin's cheek.

"Underclassman, pick some songs to say goodbye to the seniors," said Mr. Schue. "Seniors, pick a song to say goodbye to us."

"A part of me wants to lock these doors and stay here with everyone forever," said Mercedes.

"Same," Adalynn sniffled, wiping a tear away as she leaned her head onto Quinn's shoulder and wrapped her arms around her waist. "Lucy, no go."

"Don't make me cry," Quinn said, her voice breaking as she kissed the top of her girlfriend's head.

"We can use the waste basket for the toilet, and then we could eat Joe for the food since she's been here the shortest, so we know her the least," said Brittany.

"No cannibalism, Britt," Bailey chuckled.

"I really hope you're about to rap," Quinn chuckled sadly when she saw Mr. Schue tuning his guitar.

"No such luck," the teacher laughed. "I'm leading by example here. This one is for you guys."

Adalynn sat in the auditorium with Burt, Julian, Bailey, and Ava while they waited for Kurt to show up. Footsteps were heard, and the three teenagers turned from where they were sitting in the front row to see the older Hummel sibling coming towards them.

"Dad, why did you, Julian, and Adalynn spam my phone with texts telling me to meet you here?" Kurt asked. "Oh my god. My NYADA letter came, didn't it?"

"Not yet," said Burt. "Sit down. I want to give you your graduation present."

"And before you ask, no, Elaine Stritch isn't here," Adalynn said as Kurt sat down next to her.

"So, somewhere around your 7th birthday, I lost you," Burt began. "Before that, you were a normal kid. I mean, a kid who liked to dust, but... You know, I read you and your sister to bed, I put cartoons on the TV when you guys were bored. I taught you how to ride a bike. Normal stuff. And then you turned seven or eight, and you start to become this. And, uh, it was like I was living with an alien. I mean, I tried to keep up, but, uh, you know, once your mom passed, I really... I didn't stand a chance."
