TWO(time skip four months later.)
WOODBURY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE a home to everyone. A safe place to all. A place where everyone was supposed to feel a glimpse of the old world. The people all had a place, either going out on runs or providing in the gardens, it didn't matter who you were or what you did to survive out there, you were welcomed. Woodbury was flourishing beautifully now, bringing in new people day to day and happy smiles on faces as you passed them by.
Philip, the Governor, would say it was all thanks to him. He felt as if he did it all by himself with no help, that was his place and he was running it on his own. Just four months ago when Aria and Greyson were first brought in, there weren't many people. No routines, no anything. Aria would say she helped greatly on getting Woodbury up and running like it was today.
The woman helped go on runs, recruit other survivors and grab supplies they needed, it was her idea to get things going as smoothly as they seemed. Greyson stayed back, either on guard duty or helping clean the houses or the buildings within the gates. He was hesitant at first to leave his mom and watch as she left the gated community without him, easing up only when she was safely home.
The Woodbury community started to feel like home, no more running for their lives or scavenging for food whenever they could. They had a shelter, a now working shower, and food on the table. The two were grateful, even if Aria didn't particularly like everyone that resided within the walls of Woodbury.
Rubbing the palms of her hands on the material of her jeans, Aria Blake began walking to where she could see her brother talking to someone. The bright sun beaded down, her fly away hairs going haywire. The back of her neck was sweating along with sweat glistening on her forehead.
"Hey Ph- Governor." Aria caught herself before she could expose his real name in front of two people she didn't recognize. "What's going on?"
Philip turned to meet her eyes before drifting them to the blonde next to him and another woman next to her, "Merle brought some new people in today. This is Andrea and Michonne, be nice to them."
The woman rolled her eyes at his comment, her face etching a smile directed towards the two woman. "I'm Aria, it's nice to meet you both."
Andreas face tightly smiled while Michonne just stared at the woman with no emotion. Aria shrugged their behavior off as she faced her brother, "Why wasn't I told Merle was going on a run today?"
"You don't like Merle so why does it matter?" The Governor said, arms crossing over the other.
Aria squinted at him, annoyed. "Just because I don't like Merle, doesn't mean I don't want to go on runs."
"Merle wanted you to go, he said it's fun to piss you off but I told him I needed you here." Philip flatly spoke, not much care into his words as he took his eyes off his sister and towards the new people. "Plus, I need you to show Michonne around. Andrea is coming with me."
The brunette didn't get a chance to argue before they walked away. She could only stare at their retreating figures and scoff. She could tell by the way Andrea looked at her brother something would eventually happen between the two. Just thinking about that scenario made Aria's face scrunch up and shiver in disgust.
