TWENTY FOURTRAIN TRACKS CAME INTO VIEW as Aria trailed in front of the other two this time, unlike what she had been doing the past day. A group of walkers were seen feasting on whatever was left of the bodies underneath them. Aria sighed not being able to contain it as she pulled the bow from her back along with an arrow and began shooting them one by one, with the help of Daryl. After making sure they were fully dead the woman walked over, grabbing her arrows from whichever ones she hit, cleaning them off against her jeans before placing them back behind her again.
She didn't linger around the dead for long, beginning her steps away and along the tracks before she stopped as she heard Beth's cries. Aria wrapped her arms around the girl, bringing her in close as she sobbed in her arms for the first time. The woman didn't say anything, soothing Beth's hair down with her hand as the girls arms engulfed her in a much needed embrace. Aria's cheek rested against the girls head, her body stammering with sobs she couldn't contain anymore.
Aria felt her heart break even more as she held the upset girl in her hold. Aria's own blue eyes started to water, threatening to spill past her waterline which she didn't let. So much pain for someone so young, someone so full of life and too kind for her own good, now stood in agony by her own thoughts she couldn't control. She wished she could take her pain, the aching she so desperately felt but didn't want, and let her walk free again without the weight of despair on her shoulders dragging her down.
Night fall came again indicating another day had passed and gone without so much of a glimpse of luck starting to show for the three. Another makeshift fire illuminated the three, only being able to see the two next to her and a small amount of the trees surrounding them. Aria's back rested against a tree this time, her body sat in an awkward position as she rolled her head back against the tree to try and sleep.
Suddenly, she was back at the prison. The air gloomy and it started to feel like something was about to go wrong. She looked around, everyone shooting at the gates. Aria's eyebrows furrowed as she was the only one outside behind the tank that rammed into the fencing, her knees pressed against the hard ground as rocks started digging into her skin. She looked down as she heard someone next to her. The woman's eyes watered at the scene.
Her arrow stuck in Philips head, hands covered in his crimson blood as her shirt was too. She didn't understand what was happening, how she got there back to this moment she wished to forget. She wanted to stop thinking about this but now she was reliving the entire thing, her vision blurred as she heard the words leaving her mouth she didn't remember saying. Her hands shaking in anger as she finally pulled the arrow away, his lifeless face staring straight at her in disgust.
It infuriated her.
Why was he allowed to look at her like that while he did vile gruesome things that were far more unforgivable than her? It clouded her mind as she kept thinking why and why. Even in her sleep Philip wouldn't leave. He haunted her very existence and she wanted to get out. She wanted him to leave. Leave her head and let her finally have the peace she wanted. But Philip was like a disease, he couldn't just go away with simplicity, he had to infect every last living thing before he finally watched as you wither away.
Aria was the first to open her eyes after the ghastly familiar dream shook her awake with a gasp. Her eyes darting around her in a frenzy, trying to comprehend her whereabouts. Her chest raising and falling sporadically as her throat felt dry in lack of hydration. She raised her trembling hand to her face, wiping away at it before letting it smooth down her wildly loose fly always on top of her head.
