NINE

ARIA AND GREYSON FOUND THEMSELVES standing next to Michonne by the stairs. Rick walked by Maggie's cell as she grabbed a gun and started to leave to her respective place. Daryl and Glenn also accompanied the three downstairs as they watched Rick give orders. Still not saying a word about the fact they weren't locked in their cell at the moment.

"Fields filled with walkers." Rick stated, moving closing towards Glenn. "I didn't see any snipers out there but we'll keep Maggie on watch."

"I'll get up in the guard tower, take out half them walkers, give these guys a chance to fix the fence." Daryl suggested, now standing next to Aria.

Michonne quietly spoke, "Or use some of the cars to put the bus in place."

"We can't access the field without burning through our bullets." Hershel previously walked in upon seeing the Grimes' man.

"So we're trapped in here. There's barely any food or ammo." Glenn shook his head at the group.

Daryl kept his eyes on the floor, "Been here before we'll be all right."

"That's when it was just us." Glenn turned to Daryl. "Before there was a snake in the nest."

"Man, we gonna go through this again?" Daryls eyes squinted as if he was testing Glenn to keep at it. "Look, Merle's staying here. He's with us now. Get used to it. All y'all."

"I don't see y'all saying anything about them. She's the Governors sister and you're still worried about Merle?" Daryl scoffed gesturing over to where Grey and Aria stood behind him, as he walked up the stairs.

Aria rolled her eyes, "We're really not going to let me live that down are we? It's not my fault he's my brother, you think I want him to be related to me?"

She stepped forward to watch Daryl walk up the stairs, "Merle's a dick too y'know, don't blame me for my brothers or his  shitty actions. Grey and I aren't here to hurt nobody, if we were we would've already done it by now."

She watched as Daryl looked over his shoulder at her for a split second before going back to where his brother was currently locked in at. The woman shook her head with a scoff, her arms crossing over each other near her chest. She focused back to Glenn and Rick's conversation in front of her.

"Seriously Rick, I don't think Merle living here is really gonna fly." Glenn said under his breath, clear hatred residing in his tone.

Rick shot him a look, "I can't kick him out."

"I wouldn't ask you to live with Shane after he tried to kill you." Glenn seemed to have struck a nerve when Rick stared at him after his words.

Hershel spoke, intervening before it could escalate further. "Merle has military experience. He may be erratic but don't underestimate his loyalty to his brother."

"What if we solve both problems at once?" Glenn suggested. "Deliver Merle to the Governor. Bargaining chip. Give him his traitor maybe declare a truce."

"If he doesn't want just him maybe we can give him Aria and Grey back." Glenn sighed, not too sure with the idea that popped into his head.
