THIRTY THREE

THERES FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Five stages people experience when enduring the loss of someone close to them, whether or not that someone goes through every stage or deals with their grief differently, they still feel the heavy, burdened, impact of grief. Losing loved ones had to be one of the worst pains the human could experience, or in the case of Aria Blake, losing people never became easier no matter how much time had passed by it still leaves an aching pain in your heart.

Truly one of the worst feelings anyone could go through was grief.

Even three weeks after the tragic loss in Atlanta, the pain never subsided. It just followed as it grasps it's painful hold onto the unlucky, never easing up in the slightest. Everyone could still feel the repercussions of the aftermath, the shockwaves never ending. In those three weeks, Aria barely managed to get by. That's the thing with suffering a loss, it effects everyone differently, the way people cope with such tragedy vary.

Every time the woman closed her eyes she could picture the gun going off, the loud initial sound of the trigger being pulled, and Beth falling to the floor in a heap of her own blood. The way the woman's hands tried to wipe the crimson color off the girls face, the way it just stuck to her hands, and the way she knew Beth wasn't coming back. It replayed in her head over and over like a broken record, not daring to stop as she so desperately wished her mind would turn off. But Aria was among one of the unlucky, burdened to no end with the never ending mind games her own self would play as she just wanted to soothe the ache she felt.

With every step the woman took, the group kept switching from vehicles to foot, it also reminded her of when she got home that day. Back at the church where everyone resided, the ones who didn't get to witness the events of that day, the ones who were clueless. She could still hear the screams of plea from Greyson as he shook his head vigorously, the way he sobbed to the floor as the news broke his heart. The way Aria was the one to deliver the message, the one to tell him that Beth was never coming home as she tried to contain her own feelings for the sake of the boy.

Greyson always believed in the good, never letting himself loose hope as the days drawn on as the dead roamed the world. Even after he lost his father, the person he looked up too the most, idolized, taught him basically everything he knows, he never lost hope. It was something that kept stringing him along, whether he wanted it to or not. Hope was something so dangerous in a world he lived in now, he told his self not to get his hopes up and that he should always expect the unexpected, but being a teenage boy that lost what was supposed to be the best times of his adolescence, he still carried that hope around like his heart on his sleeve.

He told himself that would be his downfall, the belief he still drug around with him everywhere he went. Now, loosing another person he cared so deeply for, someone he wanted to love and cherish even if he was only seventeen, it drained him of all the good he saw left in the world. That day took another part of his childhood, his innocence, from him again. Only being seventeen he carried so much weight of sadness caused by the ones he lost and it completely tore away any and all hope he saw left in the remainder of humanity.

Beth was someone special to him. He'd even say she was his first love, whether she knew he felt that way or not.

Within those three weeks, Greyson was uncharacteristically not himself. Everyone could see the way Beth's death took a toll on the boy. Someone once so optimistic turning slowly into something no one ever wanted to imagine the boy to become, only someone that experienced this much pain would understand how he felt and the reason why his once brightly lit self came dwindling down to a dark abyss of anguish.
