EIGHT"I THINK WE SHOULD LEAVE SOON." His voice sounded through the crisp air of the bedroom. Parker Wright kept his eyes trained on his wife that sat next to him. They had been planning on leaving the rickety house sooner or later, just not yet wanting to give it up like they did with everything else in their life's when the world went to shit.
In had only been four months into the apocalypse now, four months of fighting to survive and not be turned into one of those walking dead monsters that roamed the streets outside. Four months since the world ended and they still where living in their house. They both knew this house wouldn't last long without the proper care it needed.
"We've been talking about it since the beginning and I think we should finally do it." Parker sighed, not wanting to leave his once loving home. "We should find others. Find a better place for shelter, Ari."
"It's dangerous enough when one of us has to go on supply runs and we have to keep re-boarding up the door." He stopped, placing a hand on her thigh in comfort.
Aria nodded, letting out a long drawn breath. "I know... we can start packing what we need tonight and leave by morning."
"Are you sure?" Parker questioned. "I didn't mean we had to leave so quickly."
"It's better if we just go by morning and stop stalling." The woman's eyes circled around the bedroom, towards the boarded up window then to the door on the other side of the room.
"Plus living with just boys and not seeing another woman is driving me crazy." Aria smiled playfully, indicating she was joking around.
Parker smirked, hovering over her and placing sloppy kisses over her entire face, laughter escaping her lips. "Oh come on, you love us." He smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her lips before rolling onto his back next to her, staring at the ceiling.
Aria grabbed his hand in hers, "I really do." The married couple went silent, staring at the popcorn ceiling. They both dreaded this moment, having to leave everything they once knew.
"I wish we didn't have to live like this. For Grey to have to grow up in a world like this." Aria frowned letting go of his hand and running her own down her face.
Parker turned to his side, facing her. "Hey, it'll be okay. It will all work out eventually. We can beat this world, he definitely can. I know it."
The blue eyed woman nodded, her lips forming into a tight small lined smile. Before either of them could get another word out footsteps entered the room, both parents turning to see Greyson in the doorway. Aria quickly wiped a single stray tear from her face, sitting up alongside Parker.
"Hey kiddo, what's up?" Parker beamed, watching as Greyson came and sat down at the end of their bed.
"I heard you guys talking." Greyson started making Aria and Parker glance at each other. "We're leaving?"
"Your dad and I think it's for the best if we do." Aria told him as Parker nodded in agreement. Greyson knew this day would come, when they'd leave. Worry spread along his face, a deepened frown forming. He was perfectly fine with leaving, having already bid his dues towards his house, it was the fact they'd have to survive out there for whoever knows how long.
