FOURTEEN"RICK I THINK YOU SHOULD LET ME go with." Aria's voice was heard throughout the cell block, not meaning to be so loud but the echo came off strong. She faced the man she was talking to, her eyes pleading with him to let her help with what she could.
It was a few days after the supply run Rick, Carl and Aria went on now. Rick was going to meet with Philip, trying to see if he had a chance to find peace or any arrangement he could make to end the feud the two men had. Him and a few others were tagging along, just for extra armed backup outside in case anything went wrong.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Rick tried to reason. His head shaking as his hands rested on his hips.
She sighed, "I won't even go inside, i'll be outside with Daryl and Hershel. Unless I need to go inside with you, would you rather me do that? See if I can talk him into agreeing?"
He shook his head again, eyes resting on hers. "No, no that's probably not a good idea for you to come inside with me or for you to talk to him. There's no telling what he'd do once he sees you. We don't want anything getting out of hand even more than it already is."
Aria exhaled deeply, "Well i'm taking that answer as I can come with. I'll keep a low profile, try and stay back. Not draw too much attention to myself."
"Fine." Rick replied. "Help Daryl and Hershel outside if they need it, keep watch. If anything goes wrong, i'll signal you in to help get your brother on our side."
"That's only if I need your help though." Rick stated, getting her to nod her head at his words as a way to tell him she understood.
"Got it." Aria said sternly, her voice unwavering as she knew what she had to do.
Rick turned his head to face the woman's son who was standing a few feet away watching like everyone else. "Grey why don't you stay here and help Carl keep watch?"
Grey's eyes met Aria's as to ask if that was okay for him to do, he saw her answer before he nodded reluctantly, "Okay, I can do that."
"You know how to shoot?" Rick questioned the boy, his eyebrow raised.
Grey rolled his eyes, "Really? Do I know how to shoot? How do you think i've made it this long if I couldn't shoot?"
Rick's expression didn't change as Grey sighed, "Yes I know how to shoot. My dad taught me how to before all of this even happened."
Rick nodded, "I wanted to make sure just in case. I'm counting on you and Carl to help protect them, think you can do that while we're gone?"
"I definitely can do that. Don't worry Rick." Grey smirked as he talked. The teenage boy was never cocky but with the tone of his voice it almost seemed as he was hyping himself up.
Aria smiled softly at her son before her eyes landed back on Rick, "He's a good shot."
"That's because I learnt from the best." Greyson now smiled fondly, remembering the time he went with his father to the shooting range for fun.
The woman still held her smile, a genuine one at that. "You really did." She thought of the time she waited up on a Saturday evening, wondering when Grey and Parker would be home from their father-son bonding day. Once they did come home the brightest smile remained on Grey's face, telling her stories of what they did that day and how cool it was to shoot.
