NINETEEN

THE DAY ONLY SEEMED TO BE GETTING worse as the hours went on. Their luck the past month had started to run out much to everyone's dismay. Aria wondered how much longer they'd get peace and quiet around the prison before all hell broke loose again, and today seemed to be the day, just the tip of the never ending iceberg of problems they were yet to face.

Aria was outside trying to clear her head, sitting down against the side of the guard tower as she picked up a rock and threw it down over again. Her bow was next to her, arrows still strapped around her back since the events that took place earlier made her even more cautious. Her hand hovering over a rock, examining it in her hands before she tossed it to the side.

The woman sighed, her hands collectively running through her hair in stress. The anxious feeling started to subside, finally letting her feel some relief. However she couldn't help but to feel like this was only the beginning, the beginning of something she'd never wanted to experience ever again.

A loud noise caught her attention, a crowd of walkers leaning against a far fence. She sat up all the way, her eyes never moving from the scene. The weight of the walkers made the fence start to collapse in, not falling entirely but if any more pressure weighed on the metal it would give in.

Aria stood up, throwing her bow over her shoulder so her hands could be free. She started picking up her pace as she saw Maggie run over at the same time she did, the younger of the two yelling for Rick and Daryl's help as Aria kept running over to where the walkers were.

She instantly grabbed an arrow, using it as a weapon and sticking the item into one of the walkers heads. She didn't pay much mind to the fact it fell, just continuing her action once more as she saw Maggie run next to her and began helping her.

"The noise drew 'em out and now this parts starting to give." Maggie yelled, the two women running down to the part where it was starting to bend.

Glenn, Sasha and Tyreese ran over as they helped too. Aria somehow ended up beside Rick, trying not to pay much mind to the man as she used her arrow over and over again causing the dead to fall down. Out of her peripheral, she saw Rick hesitate before his face drained of emotion and he began reciprocating the woman's actions.

"Are you seeing this?" Sasha asked, pausing her actions as she looked to the ground below her. "Is someone feeding these things?"

Aria's attention fell on the dead rats scattered beside Sasha, "What the hell?"

Her focus going back to the fence that started collapsing fairly close to her head, Daryl yelled. "Heads up."

The woman tried her best to kill as many walkers as she could, before she had to back up scared the fence was going to fall on her dangerously close to the dead. But she instantly got back to the fence and tried to hold it up in anyway she could without the walkers being able to bite her in anyway.

"It's gonna give!"

"Everybody get back, get back now." Daryl yelled, throwing his arm out in front of him. Everyone stepped back, Aria accidentally bumping into Rick's shoulder as she did so.

Sasha shook her head, "Fence keeps bending in like that, those walkers are coming over it."

Aria's head turned around as she tried to think of a solution, her eyes landing on the pig pen. The same pigs that were possibly infected with some contagious virus that killed Patrick the night before. Her hand gently tapped Rick's arm as she tried to get his attention to where she was looking, which worked as he put it together.
