Hughie we might have to push back are drink, I quickly text him. What happened?

"How's Hughie?"
"He handled it."
"What did you tell him before you left to help us?"
"Not to be a pussy."
"God you are a butcher," M.M says and I flick his head. "Yeah I know we should go."
"Yeah," we grab the girl and Frenchie then we leave the station.

Dad and I go back to the apartment, "dad where did you and mom find me?" He stops pacing and walks over to me, he hugs me close then we sit down, "the woods everything around you was destroyed. Becca was concerned for your safety so we took you home and she took you to the hospital. You and her came back that's when I knew you were gonna be in are lives for a long time. Your my kid you'll always be my kid."
"Yeah I know I need to go," I leave to meet Hughie.

I walk into the restaurant, "hey sorry about having to postpone are drinks."
"It's fine, what happened?"
"We found the girl. How did the date with starlight go?" I ask him. "Fine kinda she's nice but I don't think I'm ready to be dating again."
"That's fair," I say and smile. We continued chatting and laughing. I feel my phone buzz and look at the text, "hey you ok?"
"Yeah," I say looking noticing Vought agents, "Hughie you need to leave now," I say pushing him out, "your coming with us Isla."
"Yeah Fine whatever," they tie my wrists together I look at Hughie who has a look of concern on his face. I mouth 'I'll be fine' to him, 'run' I mouth to him again. He runs off as I get shoved in a van.

I sit in a cell at the bottom of the seven tower, "what's your name?" Homelander asks me.
"Isla Smith."
"It's not who are you?" He ask recognizing me but he can't place from where.
"Just a girl with powers she didn't want who is trying to make a way in this world."
"You planted this bug did you not?"
"I did not," I say smiling.
"Your lying. Who do you work for?"
"What do you want Homelander?"
"For you to tell me who you work for and wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
"I don't like you at all." His eyes start getting red, "awww that's cute. Your not gonna get anything from me so you've gonna have to kill me."
"Join us your a supe this is what you were made to do," he say putting a hand on my face. "Homelander go I'll talk to her," I hear Maeve say and he leaves. I sit on the ground, "get up."
"What?"
"Get up im getting you out of here."
"Why?"
"Because hes an asshole who wants to use you."
"Maeve why?"
"Because your you," I smile as she opens the door.
"Maeve did you know?"
"That your a double agent I did know I told them."
"Then why are you letting me go."
"Because I watched Homelander let that plane fall they don't care about people. All Vought cares about is publicity. You can take them out."
"Maeve can I trust that your not gonna follow me when I leave."
"You can't," she says as I leave.

I get to believe expo and run into my dad, "Athena."
"Dad," I hug him and he hugs me back. "Your safe now I promise."
"Here put this on and keep a low profile," M.M says hands me a pair of sunglasses as I stick by my dad. "Wanna tell us what happened?"
"Homelander almost killed me."
"I'm glad your ok. Hughie told us they got you." We hear Ezekiel talk and the boys talk. Hughie looks at me, "how did you get out?"
"With my beautiful charms," I say and he chuckles squeezing my hand.
"1500 dollars for a vip with Ezekiel isn't there a cheaper way to get in."
"We're not going you are. Starlight is one of the headliners right? She'll get you in," dad says handing me a water. We talk about blackmailing Ezekiel, "I don't know how to blackmail anybody."
"Hughie you murder someone technically speaking this will be a piece of cake," dad then looks at me, You need to go home."
"I can help."
"I can't lose you."
"You won't. I can do this Hughie is holding on by a thread I can blackmail someone I did it to you."
"Yeah that was weird day, but my answer is still no."
"Fine," I say walking with him and mothers milk.

Dad and I were walking around, "this place is stupid." We get popcorn, "Hughie do you believe in god?"
"Order in all this Chaos."
"So what happened to Robin is some divine intervention?" Dads phone rings and we walks off. After a few minutes he comes back to M.M and I, "keep an eye on the lad will ya?"
"Where the fuck are you going?"
"Shit," I mumble to myself.
"Just do it all right. Athena Let's go," i nod and we leave. As we walk away, "Rachel called didn't she."
"Yeah kiddo. In this together right?"
"Always," we leave believe expo.

As he drives back from St. John's cemetery, "dad am I the reason mom left?"
"No Thena your not and never say that again ok?"
"Yeah," I say we pull up to Rachel's apartment. Dad knocks on the door and she answers, "hey Billy, Athena."
"Rachel," he says walking in. "Hey Auntie."
"Hey Athena is he?"
"Grumpy yes always," I walk in and sit on the couch. "Why didn't you tell me my own bloody sister in law?" I hear my dad say as I put my headphones in listening to my music at full volume. I've never been good with the fighting and now I don't know what to do.
"It's been 8 years since she disappeared the cops never found anything. You never found anything. She dead she either got killed or killed herself and I suggest for your daughter sake you both let this go," I hear Rachel scream and I leave the apartment.

I go back to the gravestone and sit down next to it, "I'm so sorry mom. About everything I love you so much. Dad and I have done everything we could to find you and I promise I'll figure out what happened you," I put my hand on the stone and touch my forehead to it, "I will always love you." I sit there for what feels like hours. "I think I'll miss you forever like the stars miss the sky in the morning sky," I start singing to myself. "How long have you been here?" I hear dad ask. "Long enough for you get a sledgehammer."
"You ok?" I wipe my face and get up dad looks at me. "Im sorry kid I shouldn't have brought you to see Rachel."
"I guess I didn't realized how much I missed her till I saw this."
"Me too kid. Wanna help me smash it?" I nod and Grab the sledgehammer. I used all my anger and strength hitting the gravestone, "feel better?" He ask as I hand him the hammer back. "Yeah I'm gonna do this something I'll see later."

I walk right into Rachel's apartment, "what do you want Athena?"
"You should've told me."
"I didn't have to tell you anything."
"Really cause Becca was my mother."
"You aren't her daughter. Your just a girl she took pity on. I played nice in front of Billy but your not my niece."
"You know after she disappeared I wanted dad to bring me to you because I thought we were a family."
"You are the reason my sister is gone!" She screams at me and I break her fingers with a earthquake.
"My mom loved me she wouldn't leave without saying goodbye I'm gonna find out what happened to her if it's the last thing I do. And Rachel if you do something like what you did without saying to Dad or to me again I will break more then your just fingers," I say angrily leaving. I pick up the phone, "Hughie yeah I'll meet you there," I hang up. I get in the car with dad, "you good?"
"Yeah dad."

Dad drops me off back at the apartment. I grab my laptop and start going through the files from Stillwells computer, my phone buzz, "kiddo find out everything you can on making supes. They make them in fucking lab."
"Dad I'm on it."
"That's my girl," I hang up and continue going through the files. I find a file, compound v and I start to read it, as I read it I feel the room start to shake. I take a deep breath relax and the room stops shaking. I hear commotion outside so I go investigate and I see Frenchie and the girl in the alley. "You are a miracle," I hear him say.
