I walk into the bar, "Athena you made it," hughie says to me and I see Annie. "Yeah sorry I'm late guys my dad hates me."
"No your dad hates me."
"He hates you because he thinks you like me," I say reason and Annie sits there confused. I look over at Annie, "right Annie my name isn't actually Isla. It's Athena Butcher."
"Oh cool," she says as Hughie looks at me with love in his eyes and I can't help but smile. "Hughie," we all look over and see Anthony, "oh Athena you have ketchup on your cheek," he says to me then Hughie wipes it off. "Thanks Hughie," I say smiling. "I'll take Annie and leave the love birds alone," Anthony says then him and Annie leave. "Sorry I didn't mean to crash your date with Annie."
"Nah it's fine I'm glad your here. How are you doing?"
"I'm ok," I say smiling. I don't know why but when Hughie and I are alone I'm actually happy which is so weird I haven't been happy in years. "This is gonna be weird can I kiss you?" He ask me. "Yeah," I say and Hughie pushes my hair out of the way he places a hand on my cheek as he places his soft lips on mine. As we kiss I feel a spark in my chest we pull apart and I run outside. I sit down on the curb, "hey I'm sorry I thought you were-" I crash my lips onto Hughies before he could finish his sentence. "We can never tell my dad."
"Yeah I don't need him to kill me so if I have to fake date Annie to keep us both safe I will."
"I know Hughie, and we can take things slow because of you know."
"I'd like that," he smiles and squeezes my hand. "I should get going before my dad kills me."
"Yeah Attie That's a good idea," I smile kiss him again then I leave.

"Samaritans Embrace, run by Ezekiel but bankrolled by Vought. Has been shipping compound V to 53 hospitals all across the nation but gift wrapping it as..." I tune them out continuing to figuring, "holy shit," I say then immediately cover my mouth. "Spit it out kid."
"You don't need to be a child for this to give you powers. They give it to kids so they can pass it off as being chosen by god. And because it's easier for the baby to adapt when the v gets injected."
"Bloody genius kid. Hughie Your with me."
"Dad don't kill him."
"I won't," he say then Hughie looks at me and mouths help me. "I'll come to," I say grabbing my jacket. "Yeah ok."

We sit in the car, "kiddo why don't you give Hughie and I a minute won't you."
"Dad I swear to god if you kill him I'll kill you." Hughie whispers to me, "that's sexy" and I chuckle getting out the car. "You two behave I'm gonna get some coffee," I say in the window. I walk to the nearest coffee shop order an iced vanilla latte, "it's been paid for," they say.
"By?" They point to a woman in the corner. "Thank you," I grab my drink and sit down across from Grace. "What do you want?"
"I have something for you," she hands me a file. "What is This?"
"It's your file," she says to me and I open it. I was an experiment from a lab near by. "This is the same lab as Homelander," i whisper to myself.
"Yeah. You ok?"
"No."
"We'll have you told Butcher the truth?"
"No and you won't you promised Grace."
"You can't hide this forever," she says to me the hands me a box. I open it up seeing a pair of gauntlets, "what are these for?" I ask her.
"To help your wrists from breaking all the time when you use your powers."
"Grace thank you."
"Your welcome kid," I put the gauntlets on walk out of the coffee shop.

I walk up to the church and see Dad and Hughie, "your not dead."
"Not yet he called me a good cunt."
"Alrighty you didn't tell him?"
"Tell me what?" Dad ask.
"Nothing dad," I say we walk inside.
Dad, Hughie and I sit listen to the people who got hurt because of the supes. Then we listened to someone lose his penis because of an ice super. "Is your dad trying to scaring me?" Hughie whispers to me. "Probably," I whisper back. "I'll do it give me the stupid stick," the guy hands me the stick. "Give him the stick," the therapist says in reference to my dad. My dad grabs it angrily and I put my head on Hughies shoulder in embarrassment, "you all are nothing more then supe worshiping Cunts." He continues going on about how supes suck. Hughie gets up and goes after my dad, "do you want the stick young lady?"
"Yeah sure fuck it," I grab the stick off the floor, "my mom left or was killed 8 years ago the last person to see her before she left was a dude with lasers for eyes and big red, white and blue cape. The worst part was I never got to say goodbye or tell her that I loved her. I miss her everyday, dad says when he looks at me he sees her. I have to go," I get up and walk off feeling my chest get tight. "Attie?" I hear my dad and I look up, "shhh ok follow my breathing, in and out," I calm down and we get up. "Let's Go to the park," I slow nod and we go.

We sit on the park bench and I start humming the spice girls, "my wife Becca, Athena mom, she hummed the spice girls and was happy. Which is a surprise cause she was happy with me. She was happy," dad says then I stop humming so he continues saying, "Homelander raped her."
"Dad Why didn't you tell me?"
"Kid," he says in a concerned tone.
"No I believed mom left because of me. Rachel believed mom left because of me."
"She loved you. I love you Athena."
"Im so sorry guys," Hughie says then puts a hand on my thigh keeping me calm. "Not long after that she came and sat right here. I know this cause she got tagged in that security camera right there. She sat here for 3hours. Didn't move a muscle then she just got up and walked away. That was 8 years ago. Athena?" I look at dad and I hug him wrapping my arms around his neck. He holds me close, "on that day I vowed I wouldn't let anything happen to Attie. She's all I have left my Becca even if she isn't biologically ares. The three of us are in this together because all know what it's like to lose someone for Robin and Becca. That is why you can't allow yourself to be distracted by another bird," dad say and I smile at Hughie he gives me a small smile back, "especially not a supe," we sit there quietly for a little, "just remember who your friends and who your enemies are. Same goes for you Athena."
"Yeah I know dad," I say to him then I start humming spice girls again. "I'm gonna rip my ears off," dad say I chuckle. "Love you dad."
"Love you too Attie."

Dad, Hughie and I all walk up to a house, "gentlemen and Athena," I nod and we walk inside. I go to the kitchen and sit on the counter, "you ok?" Hughie asks me as he sits next to me. "No I haven't been in a really long time. You should go help my dad I'm gonna go outside I need some air."
"Do you wanna be alone?"
"No," I say then Hughie and I walk into the living room.
"So they smuggled her in pump her full of compound v. Then when she Good and ready they send her out to wreak havoc."
"Why would Vought Pump her up with V?"
"They wanna make super villains. When I was undercover I heard people say that if terrorist where also supes then the bill for the seven in the army-"
"Would get passed with Sergeant fucking Homelander leading them. Got to let the cunts in the army now," I walk over to the girl. "Can I sit?" She nods and I sit down. I pull my phone and open the notes app, I have powers too I write and show her the phone she looks up and smiles at me. She gets up and goes to Mesmer, he starts talking about Kimko, "she just wants to go home and save her brother."

"Alright take her back to the safe house."
"Dad?"
"I'll be ok I'm going to the feds."

"Never do," he leaves.

I stand outside and pick up my phone, "is this Athena Butcher?" Raynor says over the phone.
"Yeah."
"Your dad is gonna get himself killed."
"No shit Raynor so unless you have something to say to me or my family don't call me ever again," I hang up the phone. I text Hughie, hey I'm gonna go check on Memser. I know you have a fake date with Annie just be careful. <3 he texts me, you too Attie <3

I get to where Memser was I mess with my gauntlets Grace made me, I get up to the roof and I see Homelander fly off. I walk up to Memser, "you messed the wrong team of assholes," I say then I blast home off the building.
