The Butchers daughter || the boys

Act 2: part 1

I wake up and look around, "fuck." I grab the bag that was sitting next to me, "Dad!" I scream but I was alone in parking lot. I grab the bag and run off, "hey your one of the people from the news."
"Shit," I mumble and continue running with the bag. I get to the city and I see Hughie so I follow him.

I walk up to the place with a my bag, "who are you?"
"Athena Butcher and your gonna let me in or I'm gonna push you down the fucking stairs."
"I'm sorry I don't know," I blast the guy down the stairs and I walk down them the place the boys were hanging out, "whoses gonna be are team captain?" I hear Frenchie yell. "Hello boys."
"Attie," they all run up and hug me. "Where's Butcher?"
"We found mum. Maybe I don't know I'm probably crazy."I say and they look at me. "Why aren't you there?"
"I don't know!"
"Welcome back Ms. stubborn," m.m says to me.
"Can we talk?" Hughie ask and I nod we go into a separate room. "Is Butcher?"
"He's alive I think we got separated."
"How?"
"I don't know. I don't like not knowing shit."
"I missed you."
"I missed you too," I crash are lips together then we hear screaming. "Shit!"
"Welcome Home," he says and we run over. I grab a rub band and it to M.m, "get in the van."

We get out the van at a dock, Kimiko and I walk towards the boat, "it would've taken a lot of force to pull over something like this. Probably another supe, Kimiko?" I walk over and smile as she holds up a origami bird, "what is it?" She holds the bird to her chest and points at herself. "Your brother?" I ask and she nods. "Hey," Hughie puts a hand on my back and I relax, "hey."
"Everything ok?"
"No but what did you find?"
"They got paid to smuggle a supe terrorist."
"Great. Can we go eat something I'm starving."
"We're wanted for murder."
"Which murder?"
"Stillwell. What did you do?"
"You remember when you guys talked Memser?"
"Yeah...Attie."
"What he rated us out!" I say and everyone chuckles. I smile and dance a little. Hughie smiles, "ive missed you so much," I look into his big beautiful eyes.
"Yeah I'm sorry."
"Its ok Athena," Hughie wraps his arms around my waist, i feel his breath oh god how ive missed his eyes, and personaility and how he could always make me so happy. "I love you Hughie."
"I love you too Athena," I smile.
"Lovebirds let's get out of here," M.M says we leave.

I sit in the van alone thinking about the place I saw mom, yellow house, pine trees sun set around 7. At least I'm probably fucking crazy she's dead, "hey I brought burgers," Hughie says climbing in next to me. "Thanks Hughie."
"You ok Your seem off."
"Yeah sorry i just wanted to be alone but I'm glad your here."
"Wanna talk about?"
"I think I saw my mom."
"I used to think I saw Robin." I smile and put my head on his shoulder, "I'll protect you Athena."
"Other way around but thank you Hughie. I don't know even know where dad is if he's dead I don't know what do to."
"Butcher is to much of an asshole to die especially if he knew you were still danger. You come from a family of assholes."
"Mom wasn't she was happy, sweet the complete opposite of my dad but they brought out the best in eachother."
"You wanna tell me more about her?"
"No I'll just makes myself sad," he wraps arm around me and I smile. As we eat we didn't need to talk to eachother to know that we would always been here for eachother and to know that no matter what we would be able to pull eachother out from the dark.

"I do not understand What boy?" I hear Frenchie ask Kimiko As I walk in. I walk over to the boys, "we could call Butcher."
"The last we don't need Butcher. What about the cia lady?"
"Raynor will flatten your penises," I say clapping my hands together.
"Thank you Butcher," M.M says to me. "Your incharge Attie what do we do?"
"We could call Annie," Hughie suggests.
"Annie, you mean starlight that's her name. Vought has her phone so bugged they're praying that that you do that. Oh no. You fucking called her," I facepalm and walk over to Kimiko, she shows me the note with boy on it and the bird again. "Yeah brother do you know where he could be going?" She shakes her head no. "You've been walking around for days like you wanna kick my ass so don't."
"Boys!" I yell blasting a lamp apart. "You sit down and Hughie shut up. It's hard to think when your all yelling at eachother. Yeah my dad is a piece of shit for dragging you back into this M.M I'm sorry. Frenchie Your Wonderful but please use your brain. Hughie sweet dumb petite Hughie your an idiot! Now stop yelling at eachother and Talk like basic human People!" I yell and sit down. "I don't have a job, or Robin, or my dad or Annie. All I have is this and Athena which is really fucking depressing."
"I'm a catch. Right sorry not the point."
"Maybe I can't be Lee Marvin, but I can Harry Potter or who's the girl from the hunger games."
"Katniss."
"Yeah the point is I could be the person that nobody thinks is awesome, but it's turns out they're kinda fucking awesome," Hughie says and they all look at me. "So you wanna be Athena."
"Hey I've always been awesome and nothing will change that."
"We help the cia maybe she can help us get back to are families. Did you ever think of that?" I get up and walk out of the building.

I sit on the park bench with a beanie on, I feel my phone buzz i pick it up, "Athena?" It was dad.
"Dad are you? Where are you?"
"Where are you guys?"
"Basement under comic book store."
"I'll see you soon kid," he hangs up as Annie walks over to me, "Did you get it?"
"Yes."
"Great Let's Go."
"Do you not trust me?"
"No Why should I?" I ask looking at her.
"Hughie does."
"Yeah my boyfriend is an idiot," I say and she gives me a look of jealously.

We walk into the diner, "Gecko?" He turns around, "Annie I mean Starlight. Whose the girl?" Gecko ask then Annie wraps her around my waist. "My girlfriend."
"Off," I pull her arm off and we sit down. "So coffee?" I nod and smile. "Big seven hero and a scary girlfriend. I work in the labs for Vought on 67."
"Can you get us some compound v?"
"Compound v?"
"You get us the v or," Annie pulls the video out and plays it. I look over and smile proudly at her. "Yeah ok Vought uses me so I do This side hussel. What is compound v?"
"Don't lie to me Gecko I know the truth."
"What truth?"
"That supes are made with it were not born this way."

Hughies pov:
M.m was drive us all to the stop to meet The cia lady, "you wanna get back together with Starlight."
"No god no I love Athena. Oh god Butcher is kill gonna me."
"Athena might if you don't stop texting and Calling Annie."
"She's on Are side she wants to help us."
"Think about Annie and let her move on. Also if you hurt Athena I will kill you and Frenchie will help."
"Thanks guy your making me feel so much better about this." Hey we're meeting with Raynor. I text Athena. Omg babe if you go to jail I'm gonna kick your ass

We get out of the van and See Raynor, "how are you guys doing?"
"We're hanging in there."
"Has butcher contacted you?" She ask in reference to Billy.
"Nope he's completely ghosted."
"Has Athena been in contact?"
"No," M.M and I say at the time like liars.
"Do you think he killed Madelyn Stillwell?"
"I'd like to think that he didn't. But I...I don't know. Deputy director I know this might not be the best time to ask but do you ever...?"
"Hear about your family. Your daughter is, uh, starting soccer I think."
"Soccer?"
"Um Ma'am can M.M see them?"
"You know what, let's see if this checks out. And I will see what I can do."
"Thank you, Ma'am."
"I need a description of this guy."
"All right, uh, about 5'10, 165, black hair, wearing knockoff jeans and sneakers probably from Taiwan maybe India."
"You got all that from the video?"
"So the other shoe drops, and it just crushes us all."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning I've been trying to put this puzzle together, and there's a missing piece and it's been driving me nuts. And I think you just handed it to me."
"Ok what's the whole picture?"
"The whole picture it's Vought! It's a fucking coup from the inside."
"Wait what are you talking about?" I ask then I notice Raynors nose start to bleed, "Ma'am your-" then her head fucking explodes. "Fuck!"

"Holy shit."
"Come on! Get in! Go go go!"
"Must be a supe out there?"
"Are-are our heads gonna explode?"
"Frenchie who do you know that can do that?"
"No one but who knows anymore Athena been hiding powers for years."

Athena's
I walk back into base, "what happened?" I ask walking over to Hughie then Hughie answers him. Everyone stays silent, "did Raynor flatten all of your penises?"
"Kid she's dead. Her head fucking exploded." Somebody rolls down the stairs, "about fucking time dad." I say laughing as I take a pic of him in a tracksuit. "Kiddo delete that."
"You called him?" Hughie ask Frenchie.
"Sorry Petite Hughie This isn't a game now we need a real Captain," I hear Frenchie say as I hold  in a laugh. "Kid did you open the bag?"
"No."
"Open it but he's right you made a fucking mess. Raynor is dead her head cantor. But don't worry."
"Dad please don't say don't say it."
"Daddy's home," he says and I leave.
