I walk over to Erica's apartment and knock on the door, "Erica!" I yelled noticing her door is slightly open, "shit," I whisper to myself pulling out my gun, "Erica its Athena im coming in," I say walking into the apartment hoping whoever was here would show themselves, "Athena," I know that voice thats not erica I walk into the kitchen seeing a blonde haired women in a suit, and I let out a sigh of relief, "grace what are you doing here?" I ask her, "the same thing as you I assume, something is off at godolkin and I don't know what it is." "yeah it seems weird that Goldboy would just now kill himself, what do you think it is?" "I had two agents in there but I havent been able to contact them in weeks since the Goldboy death." I look at Grace I mean this isn't new for Aunt Grace she always had a backup plan for everything, "what do think is going on?" "whatever it is? Erica seemed to have gotten herself mixed up in it. Athena I know you don't wanna do this again but I need-" "ill do it," I say cutting her off and Grace placed a hand on my shoulder, "find Bobbi Harvelle I lost contact with her recently, her brother is a lost cause at this point." I nod, "we will figure this out I promise." I tell her leaving the apartment. 

I walk into the boys building noticing the only people there were my husband, M.M and Annie, I notice someone walk over to me, "what's going on?" I take a deep breath, "something is going on at Godolkin and Grace lost contact with one of agents in there and Erica hasn't been there in a while," I tell them and M.M looks at me and I look up at him, "what uncle?" "whats the plan Butcher?" He ask me and the everyone in the room looks at me well besides my husband I could tell he already knew what I was planning, "im going in," I tell them truthfully and I watch Hughie walk out of the room, I get up and go after him, "baby," I say and he turns around I could tears start to form in his eyes as I walk closer to him grabbing his hand and placing one of my hands on his cheek brushing away his tears, "your not gonna lose me I promise Hughie." "I know hacker I just can't lose you, just the thought of losing you makes me go some place dark." "my love, you are so strong and do you trust me?" "always." Hughie chuckles knowing I was right wrap my arms around his neck lean in and kissing him softly on the lips full of passion he kisses me back with more passion as I could tell me was scared of losing me. We pull apart, "just be careful." he whispers to me, "I will take care of them." "I promise," he whispers back to back. "alright love birds we good?" M.M says to us with a smile on his face as Annie is leaning against the door, "yeah were good," Hughie says holding me close, "good because we got some work to do." "what is the plan?" I take a deep breath, "ive talked to the Colonel we believe there is something going on, she has lost contact with her mole in Godolkin we don't know why, and the CIA new technology I will be able to slip into the university as part of the IT department," I tell the group and M.M looks at me with concern, "M.M is in charge while i'm gone, Hughie will check in with my dad because we know he's been off the rails, just please take care of each other." "we always do," Frenchie says to me and I look at Kimiko as she signs me good luck. "alright you fucking cunts get back to work," I yell at them and everyone laughs as Hughie looks at me, "does he know?" "not yet but I need to do this." "I know, baby I'll take care of him, and my dad wants to get dinner tonight." "fuck really, is everything alright?" "yeah I just think he's upset that he wasn't at are wedding." "shit," I say as I feel arms pull me into a hug, "its ok baby were gonna fine, he loves you." "its not that," I whisper to him as he leans down kissing my forehead, "I wanted them to meet to." "Our dad's are never meeting." I hear a light chuckle from my husband. "no never."

Later that night, "babe!" I yell from the bedroom, "yeah!" he yells from the kitchen in the apartment, "feed Terror please!" "I already did, you're worrying again." "am not!" I yell walking out of the apartment, "wow, you look amazing," he tells him as I put my leather jacket on over the blue blousy and black jeans, "you don't need the jacket, honey," he tells me and I take it off it was short sleeve blousy, and Hughie walks over to me as I look at my bruised forearms, "shit are you sure your ok? they havent been this bad since-" I take his hands, "baby im ok im here im with you im not going anywhere I love you." "how long has it been since you used your powers?" "a couple of months." "do we need to do-" "no we don't have time and I work you pretty hard in there." "it would be better if you let me have more Gatorade breaks," he says as I put my jacket back on then we leave the apartment. As we walked down to the car, "Kiddo!" I hear someone yell of the voice of my dad, "ill meet you at the car," I tell Hughie and he nods squeezing my hand, I walk over to my dad, "what's wrong?" I ask him and I could tell something was off that he was scared which was weird he was never scared of anything unless it was about me or mom, "I think im hearing things, and I don't wanna be alone," he tells me, "ok umm go upstairs Terror is up there just upstairs, Hughie and I will be back soon I promise." "yeah-" "hey is everything alright," my husband's voice from behind me putting a hand on my back and I take a deep breath, "yeah dad is gonna go upstairs while we go to dinner." "are you sure? I can cancel he will-" "no don't he'll be fine," I tell Hughie handing my dad my keys so he can let himself in. "are you sure everything is alright?" he ask me as we walk to the car, "yeah I think so, I think its the tumor." "are you alright?" I shrug as we get in the car. 

When we get to the place it was tense, "are you sure Butcher is gonna be alright without you?" he ask me, "knowing my dad hes found my stash." "sounds about right," he chuckles rubbing my hand as we walk inside the restaurant, "Hughie, Athena!" I heard his father yell we get to the table, "Hi Mr. Campbell." "Athena you can call me Hugh were family now, and why didn't you fucking tell me!" he yells at my husband, "sorry dad it was a small fast wedding, I wanted to tell you but everything that happened because-" "im sorry Hugh I should've had him tell you everything with Solider Boy and then with." "baby you don't need to tell him what going on with Butcher." "Athena wants going on with your dad?" Hughie's father ask me quickly, "about year ish ago we found my mother but she died and that sent my dad down a dark path that lead him doing something dumb and now..." I trial off and get up, "I have to go, it was nice seeing you Hugh, baby I'll see you at home." I say quickly leaving my husband and his father to talk, and I walk off and sat on a park bench looking at security camera, "Hey Attie," I hear a voice, "Ryan what are you doing?" I ask him as he sat down, "im scared Athena, and I miss you," he sat down next to me and hugging me, "Ryan what's going on?" "I miss mom." "me too buddy me too are you safe with him?" "yeah dont worry about me sis just keep your promise to mom." "Always but that means you have to do something for me alright?" He nods, "I need you to know that if you need me Im coming no matter what ok, I love you Ryan." "I love you too Athena." "Athena Butcher!" I hear someone yell and I take a deep breath, "Hello John what can I help you with?" "I just came for Ryan come on son." "John," I start and he looks at me, "please take care of him." Ryan walks over to his father and puts his hand out, "come with us sis." "Im sorry buddy but I more then one promise to mom that I have to keep." "Athena its homelander not John." "I know but vogelbaum thought the if I called you John it would bring back that sweet kid before everything that happened to us." He looks at me, "you know I would forgive you for everything that you did to Vought if you did join us for Ryan." "you and I both know I can't do that just please take care of him." I say as Ryan runs up and hugs me again, "I'll see you soon sis." "yes you will brother now go." He goes back to Homelander and I turn around walking away.
