I sit on my bed and I open the bag, "holy shit." I put it on, "wow kiddo."
"Dad I feel like a cunt."
"Yeah will you?" He hands me a piece of paper with the words, yellow house, pine trees, sunset at 7. "I'm not crazy," I say to myself.
"Did you think you were crazy?"
"Yes," I say and he hugs me. "We have a contact to meet."
"Oh god dad." We walk out into the main room, "wow Athena."
"Don't I hate this I feel like an asshole."
"We're going to meet a contact," dad says putting his jacket on. "Who is it Butchers?"
"You'll love it."
"No I won't. I never do."
"Hughie?"
"Athena," he grabs my hands, "I don't like not knowing where he drags us."
"Do you trust me?" I ask looking at his eyes. "Yes," he kiss my lips and I kiss him back wrapping my arms around his neck. "Hughie get your hands off my little girl! Athena upstairs."
"Dad."
"Upstairs," he say angrily and I walk upstairs but i didn't go all the way i stop in the middle. "Athena is my little girl. You are not good enough and will never be good enough for her because you were just some electronics salesman. The day we found Athena was the best day of my fucking life. The more we drag her into this the more of a chance she gets hurt. Hughie your a good kid but my job will always be to protect her. She is all I have left," I run down the stairs tears streaming down my face and I hug him. "I love you too dad."
"Don't worry Butcher I won't hurt her."
"If you do-" dad starts to say.
"You'll kill me I know M.M already threatened me."
"I was gonna say she would," he says and I chuckle giving Hughie a Kiss on the cheek.
"Right yeah dad we should go," I say wiping the tears off my face. "Athena I'll meet you in the car I wanna finish threateningly your boyfriend."
"Dad later," I say chuckling basically dragging him out.

Dad and I sit in the back of Graces car, "you think you can surprise me I literally taught you this one."
"Told you asshole."
"Shut up kiddo. Hello Grace," dad says to Grace.
"You promised I'd never see you again."
"We promised not to come your house again," dad says and I get out of the car. "Can I change I feel like an asshole?" I ask.
"Wow you went full supe," Grace says to me and I flick her off. "I'm assuming you guys sent the edible arrangement?"
"Kids idea."
"Chocolate dipped pineapple doves," I say and Grace starts to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"There are about 2 dozen federal officers in the church next door im gonna turn you in for the murder of Madelyn Stillwell. Not even Athena can fight off that many."
"I would try," i say smiling.
"Oh come off it, Grace. you really think I think I done that?"
"You really want me to answer that."
"Grace I know who killed Raynor!"
"Who?" I facepalm I should've stayed with the guys. "Okay, well uh I don't specifically technically have the answer to that, but I know how to get it," dad walks towards Grace and I stay at the car I really don't wanna be here or see Grace.

I walk up and sit down next to Hughie pulling a headphones out then I put it in my ear, "hey," he says softly to me. "Hi."
"So dad wants a meeting," I say pulling him out of the room. "So I talked to the Colonel."
"Colonel Mallory?"
"That's right Frenchie. She is going to help us. Get you back to your girls and clear are CIA records."
"Wait I have a record?" I ask and they all look at me like I'm an Idiot. "Am I forgetting something?"
"Attie you got arrested twice in 8 years."
"Only once by Grace and that was my bad cause I decided to listen to dad and hack into the CIA," Hughie looks at me like I was crazy. I look at me Reading a text from Annie, hey it's Annie I need your help meeting place in half of hour.
I shove my phone in my pocket, I grab my Jacket, "kid where are you going?"
"I have to go."
"Athena Josie Becca Butcher. You tell me."
"Go to hell," I say leaving.

As I walk back to the place I call Grace, "Grace I know you don't wanna hear from me and I'm above my tab but I need-"
"Come in from the snow it's cold out there," I hear say Grace on the end and I hang up the phone smashing it against the wall. "Shit shit," i say to myself knowing Grace only said cause she wasn't alone. I sit on the Ground in the alley, "hey Athena," I look up and see M.M, "Butcher sent me to check on you?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Then get up Butcher I have something to show you," M.M pulls me up and we go over to a tv in a window. I see the news saying, "if you see this Girl do not panic. Are brave hero's are keeping an eye out for the dangerous vigilante and who is charged for destruction of justice and murder. Tremors if you hearing this you will be caught."
"Shit."
"What did you do?"
"Nothing we need to go."

I sit on Hughies bed, "kid?" I look up and look at dad. He sit down next to me, "you ok?"
"I miss mom, I'm probably crazy, and Vought turned me into a supe villain. I'll be fine there's been worse."
"I found this in my pocket I think it's for you," he hands me a flash drive, then leaves me alone. I plug the drive into my computer, the only thing on it was a video, I open the video it was Mom. I quickly shut the laptop Without playing the video I walk out to the others, "Attie you ok?" I hear Hughie ask and I nod turning towards the group. "Are you Sure?"
"Yeah I'm fine can we just go before I lose my shit."

"I've got two of these," Frenchie says to dad as I fuck with gauntlets. "Better make the shots count. Kid you ready?"
"Always," I say walking over to them. "What if it doesn't work on the terrorist inside?"
"Then we're right and well fucked," dad look at me. "You have so much belief in me don't ya?" I say and he chuckles handing me a pistol. "Don't draw to much attention."
"Rude," I grab the pistol shoving it in back of pants cause I didn't wanna wear the fucking super suit.
"You ready?" I ask Hughie and he shrugs. Frenchie then opens the door and we go inside. We walk into what look likes a party store, "I'm gonna kill Grace," I say in a low tone mostly joking.
"No not yet," dad whispers back. Frenchie and Kimkio take the left, M.M and Hughie take the right, Dad and I went down the middle. As dad and I walk we keep and eye out for anything suspicious. I look up and see Kimkio, I face palm.
I break away from and follows Kimkio, she jumps down and hugs the guy. I stand there awkwardly as they talk, I see dad go to take a shot he pulls the tigger and as Hughie tackles my dad I use my powers to stop it. Kimkios brother pushes us all back into the rack of costumes, I go to get up but more stuff starts to fall on us, I use my power to try and hold it up so we don't get crushed to death, "Athena."
"Dad. Get out of here," he gets out as I use what I have left pushing the debris off me. I sit on the ground taking deep breaths, "Butcher!"
"Yeah I'm good."
"Give me your hand Athena," Frenchie and M.M pull me up. "You ok?" Dad asks me.
"I will be," I say leaning on a counter dad goes to run after Kimkio and the guy but stops and turns around. "Butcher stop. Easy easy."
"the CIA would've put him in a black box and she never would've seen her brother again," Hughie says then looks at me with concern.
"I'll be at the car," I say but dad grabs my hand pulling me into a hug. "I almost lost you today."
"Dad I'm ok I swear," I get out of the hug, then dad goes Hughie. "You fuck off," he says to him, "the rest of you with me." I feel my legs start to go out from under me, dad picks me up, "I'll always protect you kid."
"I know but I'm good put me down," he does so and I walk back over to Hughie. "So your telling me that her having her family. Is worth more then see your Own," dad says as Hughie wraps an arm around my waist holding me up. "It's not but Kimiko is one of us. I'll find another way."
"I suppose you agree since your tongue is half way up her ass," dad says to Frenchie and he shrugs, "Jesus it's like Hughie infected you both with a raging case of vagina."
"Dad stop we all wanna see are families but you can't keep an asshole to your friends. Frenchie and M.M are my family you made sure of that when you first started doing this crazy shit. I wanna find Mum as much as you do but one day your gonna get us all killed including the two people you actually care about," I say then I go to leave dad goes to grab my hand, "don't touch me." I leave the Building. I sit on the curb thinking about mom, "Athena wake up we're gonna be late for school," mom says trying to wake me up. "Go away i don't wanna go," I groan and she starts humming a spice girls song. "Becca if she doesn't wanna go she's not going," I flick them both off.
"Athena," I hear Hughie say and I wipe my face. "Butcher told us that Vought has your mom alive somewhere."
"Yeah," I get up and wipe my face pushing my feelings away, "we need to find Kimiko."

We get out the van once we find Kimiko, "are you alright? Moen Coeur," Frenchie asks and I go over to Kimiko, "it's ok it's ok come here," she hugs me tight. "Alright well cheers love at least someone got some sense around here." We duck tape her brothers hands together and sent him the back of the van, Kimiko climbs in pulling me in the back with her, suddenly we hear someone fall to the ground, "shit," I mumble to myself as dad says, "you come between me, my kid and my missues again. I'll fucking kill ya." I hear Hughie gets in the van and we drive off.
