I sat on the couch with my computer listening to music trying to research more on Liberty aka Stromfront. I look over at my dad whose watching the news and eating Chinese, "can we turn this off please?" Dad looks at Kimiko then at me then at the tv again, "they're fucking."
"No shit dad," I turn up my music and I hand a headphone to Kimiko because nobody needs to hear my dad talking about Supes fucking. I look over and smile. I get up and go over to Hughie, "uh hi," Annie says to Kimiko.
"Don't mind Kimiko or my dad he's extra grumpy," I say as Hughie grabs my hand. "Remember me?" Annie asks and Kimiko hugs her. "We'll well we'll what do we have here?"
"Dad behave or your gonna another punch in the face they took her chip out."
"Starlight don't you just light up a room, eh? You're looking well."
"Yeah, no thanks to the 50 caliber round that you pumped into my chest."
"Well, what doesn't kill you make you stronger. What is she doing here?"
"She has a lead on Stromfront."
"I broke into her laptop and saw dozens of emails from Stan Edgar."
"The sage grove center," I mumble.
"Kid spit it out."
"I hacked into her laptop before Annie showed up. The Sage Grove Center is a psychiatric hospital in Pennsylvania."
"What kind of breakthrough?" Hughie ask.
"She came in before I could see anymore. Athena you got something."
"Yeah I might though even in emails they are cryptic fuck tards. Whatever it is they don't want it out?"
"We'll then we better have a little gecko at this loony bin eh lads," I walk over to my laptop, "starlight would you be amenable to come with us on this little caper?"
"You want her to come?"
"Oh most Definitely. Thena kiddo your also coming I need some extra," dad says giving me a look like he's a gonna says something stupid.
"If you say woman power Im leaving," I tell him and Hughie squeezes my shoulder. "If shit goes sideways who do you think Vought is gonna go after us or their billion dollar baby turned traitor who just ripped her own fucking chip out. Atties coming if shit does go sideways we do actually get out or if we feel like destroying the place."
"I feel so loved here dad!"
"You are Athena! Never go into shark invested waters without chump."

As dad drives I sit in the back with Hughie and Annie, "so Athena what's your favorite type of music?" Annie asks me.
"Oh umm I'll listen to anything. Music has always been a good distraction for me!"
"She hummed Billy Joel the other day! You broke my kid, Hughie."
"Dad!"
"I somehow love you more right now," Hughie grabs my hands squeezing them.
"Yeah I know babe."

"Sage Grove a proud subsidiary of global wellness services which is a subsidiary of..."
"I can guess," dad says. I fuck with my Scrubs as Frenchie hands me a key card, "you know this works for you," Hughie says and I roll my eyes putting my hair in bun. "Later."
"Athena," dad says grabbing my arm. "Don't get caught kid and come back in one piece."
"Always dad."

5 years ago,
I sat at the table with hands cuffed to it, "you know when they said that Butchers daughter hacked into my systems I didn't wanna believe them."
"Hello again Grace and I'm not joining your super secret boy band. I did what I did because my dad needs me."
"Your loyalties are exquisite it's why I'm letting you go with the promise that if I call you answer and I don't tell anyone about you being a supe," she whispers the last part to me. "Deal," I say and I get up, "I need everything you have on Lamplighter."
"Give me 15 minutes."

Now
Thanks to Starlight, M.M, Kimiko, Frenchie and I got. We stop at a gurney, "get in," Frenchie ask Kimiko softly but she motions for him to get in. We roll Frenchie down.

Hughies pov:
Butcher hands me his sniper and gets down. "What is your Problem with me?" Annie ask him getting angry. "Guy don't do this right now."
"My problem isn't with you love."
"You know I hate Vought as much as you do but you hate what's in my blood the only good supe is a dead supe."
"Your words love."
"Athena's a supe do you hate her?" Annie ask.
"You keep her name out of your fucking mouth."
"You know what under all that swagger your just a bigot and a bully I know another guy like he flag for a cape."
"Annie stop," I try to get them to not fight because Annie and I are friends and I want Billy to continue to like me so I can date his daughter in peace. We hear a whooshing sound Stromfront, "oh, fuck me."
"Attie?" I whisper. "Hughie call them now."
