Senna's pov
Song inspo Gangsta by Kehlani
Continuation Of chapter 28/main plot

I let out a groan when Ghost shook me gently awake, waving my hands blindly at him to make him stop. I'd grown lazy in my year off, and with him beside me it was the best sleep I'd gotten in a long time. The exhaustion of the night's activities may have helped a bit too.

"Senna, c'mon, Price said to be ready in twenty." He urged me from where he knelt besides the bed beside me. When had he gotten up?

I let out a sigh, still refusing to open my eyes.

"Not enough beauty sleep, Cad?" He said then, teasing me and that got me up.

It was a little embarrassing, not being at my top performance but while he'd been at it the past year I'd been following around rich fucks and it rarely lead to any action. That didn't mean I didn't train, but nothing like I would have had had I not walked away then.

"I'm ready." I told him, trying to convince myself more than him as I moved to stand and find my clothes. It already made me mad at myself that I hadn't stirred when Price had knocked on the door to get us up.

"I know." He agreed, watching me as I covered the skin his hands had been all over last night. It was good to know he trusted me, I know he did, I just wasn't so sure about myself.

I wanted to be who I was when I first joined 141. I was so determined to show them what I was worth, what I could do. At first I had and then it was one slip up after the next and it eventually led me to not believing in myself anymore. I gave in to my past, how people had treated and used me.

I was stronger now, I knew who I was, I just wasn't there completely and second guessing myself could mean death for me or my team. I couldn't have that.

"What's on your mind?" Ghost proved, pulling on his mask and eyeing me like he could tell something was off.

"I don't know, I just…I'm not the same."

"Of course you're not, none of us stay the same with time." He explained and I almost wanted to laugh at his wisdom.

"You sound like Price." I replied.

"Yea well, you always listen to what he has to say."

"I listen to you too." I argued but he laughed, pulling on his vest and filling it.

"You know what I mean." I added, giving him a knowing look. I waited to pull on my gear, moving over to him and pushing up his mask.

"What?" He asked after I stood there looking at him for a long moment.

"You forgot something." I explained, reaching for the paint before I started to smear it around his eyes.

"You just wanted to look at me." He said dangerously low and it made me wish we had more time.

"Always." I answered before pulling his mask back down to cover his face.

"You too."

"What?" I furrowed my brow at him as he dipped his fingers into the paint and began painting around my eyes.

"Trust me." He muttered.

Once we were all geared up I moved to the door, rolling my shoulders back to ready myself.

"Senna." He said, stopping me as my hand went for the doorknob.

"Hm?" I asked as he took my shoulder to make me face him.

"You know who you are, what you are. And I'll be right there, Soap and Price too. Together." Simon explained, his gaze never leaving mine. I knew he was right, I could do this, I just had to take the first step.

I leaned up on my toes, pressing a kiss to where his lips were beneath the mask before moving to open the door so we could meet with everyone else.

I knew something was up when we joined everyone else around a table in the main room. Soap, Price and Farah all matching my eyes with paint around them. What were they up to?

"ULF gather round!" Farah called out and the rest of the men and women lingering around joined us at the table.

"Alright, listen. We are taking back your HQ, we are getting back the gas, and we are killing Al-Asad." Price explained and I wished I had Soap give me a better brief of what they'd been up to the past year.

He had mentioned Al-Asad and the Russian gas but he wasn't exactly good with details.

"When?" I asked.

"Now. This is our final fight against them. We are not 141 and ULF on this. We're a team," He answered and as he spoke Ghost reached down to dump a box of skull balaclavas on the table.

"Ghost team." Price finished, that explained the paint.

Simon removed his mask then, revealing his face. I had seen it, Soap had seen it and I assumed Price had as well. But all these other people, ones I didn't know very well. I was surprised. What had gone on while I'd been gone?

"Good to see you again, Simon." Price said and the name rolled off his tongue easily. I had a feeling I wasn't the only one who had kept secrets with Price.

"If you're in, take a mask. If you're not, don't." Price again.

I looked down at the masks and hesitated. This was it, if I did I was officially back, we were all a team.

I took one, pulling it on over my head before catching Ghost looking over at me as he pulled his back on as well. Was that a small smirk I spied?

There wasn't anyone that hadn't taken a mask and soon enough we were loaded up, a bunch of faceless killers. I quite liked the idea.

Price filled me in a bit more on the drive. They'd been working with the ULF the past year to help retake Urzikstan from Al-Qatala, finding out that the terrorists group was working with a Russian organization that provides them with a deadly bio chemical weapon in the formcof gas. One of their leaders, Al-Asad had managed to take over ULF's main headquarters, killing a bunch of their men in the process and stashing the gas there as well as turning it into some kind of laboratory to make more.

Now that they were sure Al-Asad was there it was time to take him out and recover the gas. Fucking Russians, always.

I felt a bit better now that I had some more information but still felt lacking compared to everyone else. I couldn't be sure if I was really myself until it came time to prove it.

I had to prove it.

"Karim and I will go after Al-Asad. Cadaver, Ghost, Soap, you'll secure the gas and make sure they can't make anymore." Price said, bringing me back to reality as we closed in.

"Sir." Ghost, Soap and I said at the same time and it made me smile.

The feeling was familiar, we had this. I had this. With Simon and Johnny by my side, there was nothing I needed to worry about.

We're a team and we live or die as a team.

Before anyone complains 😅 yes the timeline is not the same as the games, the situations are mixed up but this an AU and I use such things just as inspiration. I was feeling Price's Ghost team speech this chapter. That is all.
