For the rest of the night, Drake and I lounged around in matching gray sweatpants, white Nike socks, and a white t shirts. We were in bed watching Martin and eating popcorn.

A commercial had just came on so Drake started to speak.

"Tomorrow morning I have to go to the studio to finish the song off. If I'm not home when you wake up, know that I'm in the studio."

I nodded. "Alright. So when do you think you'll be done with the song? I know that you wanted to begin packing for New York again."

"Maybe two more weeks. I'm still deciding where I want to shoot the video." Drake replied.

"Okay." I paused before changing the subject nervously. "Did you know that Jason was in Canada?"

"Now baby, How could I have possibly known that Jason was in Canada? It's not like I talk to him. We're not friends." Drake responded.

I just nodded in agreement.

I woke up to an empty bed. On the nightstand, Drake left me a note:

At the studio. I made you and Tamara breakfast. Eat, get dressed, and be ready when I call. I wanna take you guys out today.

I smiled a little at the note before stretching and getting out of bed. I grabbed the brush on the dresser, and soon my frizzy ponytail turned into a neat bun.

I opened the closet door and glanced through all of the clothes on the hangers. What am I going to wear today?

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. I cracked it open a little and found Tamara looking up at me smiling. She was already fully dressed.

"Good morning baby girl. Don't you look lovely today?" I said before giving her a hug.

"Thank you mommy. After you get dressed, can we go eat?" She asked, plopping herself on my bed.

"Yeah babes. Drake said he cooked us breakfast. Did Ms. Sandi wake up yet?" I asked her.

Tamara shook her head with a sad face,"No, not yet."

I smiled at my daughter's adorableness.  "Okay, baby girl. Give me a few minutes to shower, then I'll get you breakfast. Alright?"

She reached for the TV remote on the bed and turned to Disney channel. "Okay, mommy."

I was walking through the bathroom door when a text came across my phone. It was from Jason. I was skeptical about reading it because of what Sandi told me yesterday. However, I still wanted to know what Jason was talking about at the club. I opened the text message and it read:

Dani, I know you won't believe me when I say this, but Chris is dead.

I reread the message to the point where Tamara noticed. "Are you okay, mom?"

I just nodded and proceeded into the bathroom. I shut the door, and immediately called Jason.

Jason answered on the second ring. "Hello."

"Are you drunk?" I asked immediately. Jason could not be in his right mind, right now.

"What? No." He said immediately.

"The text message. Where did you get that from?" I was so confused at this situation.

"Look, Dani. I know it sounds crazy, but Drake is not who you think he is." He spoke softly, as if to keep someone from listening.

"What are you talking about? First at the club, now here. You need to stop smoking blunts."

"Danielle, I'm serious. You know what, I need to speak to you in person." His voice remained in an almost whisper. It gave me chills down my spine.

"Alright, tomorrow at 3. Let's meet at iHop. The one near the mall."

"Okay." I hung up.

I proceeded in the shower. But, what Jason said never left my mind. What made Jason think that Chris is dead? What did Drake have to do with it? But, I also began to think about the meeting tomorrow. I didn't fully trust Jason. What if going to iHop with him alone is not a good idea?

~

Drake, Tamara, and I were at Olive Garden. Tamara was eating some mozzarella sticks which Drake and I were eating salad.

Drake kept looking up at me, but I had my gaze focused on my salad the entire time. "Babe, are you alright? You are very quiet."

I nodded. "Yea, I'm fine."

I'm sure that Drake knew that was a lie, but he did not want to press me about it. Especially when we were in public.

I was relieved when Drake excused himself to the restroom. The weight of his gaze on me lifted, and I was able to look up from my salad again.

Tamara used the time without Drake to address my recent change in attitude. "Mommy, what's wrong?"

I looked at Tamara, struggling to come up with something to explain to her. "Mommy is just, um, thinking about a lot of grown up stuff. I will be okay though. You do not have to worry about me."

She smiled a little. It was enough to keep her quiet for now, but I could see that she had more questions to ask.

Before she could decide whether she'd ask those questions, Drake and the waiter was back.

~

That night, Drake spent most of his time in the office. He said he was in a conference call with the rest of Young Money. Tamara, Sandi, and I were in the living room watching Frozen.

I kept thinking about the meeting with Jason tomorrow. I knew that I should not be meeting with Jason, but I really wanted to know the deal with Chris and Drake. "Momma Graham, can you please watch Tamara for me tomorrow afternoon?"

"Yea, baby. My grand baby is no problem, I'd love to watch her." Sandi rubbed Tamara's arm and smiled.

My phone buzzed, and the name on the screen surprised me. Chris had texted me.

Hey Dani, I want to meet with you and Tamara. How about tomorrow?

I didn't know what to do. If this is Chris texting me, then why is Jason lying? But if Chris really is dead, who has his phone? Who is really texting me?
