Chapter 9

Danielle

I woke up the next morning in my bed. I looked at the time: 1:15 PM. When I picked up my phone, I had four messages. One from Michael, one from Chris, one from Jaycee, and one from Drake. I also had like 20 missed calls from Drake.

Michael's message read:

Dani you alright? You ain't text me to tell me you made it in the house safely.

I quickly texted back:

Sorry, I just read your message. Yea, I made it in safely.

Jaycee's message read:

Hey Best friend, the girls wanna hang out today. You coming?

I texted back: 

yeah, when and where?

Chris' message read:

Hey Baby Girl, come chill with me today.

I replied: 

sorry I can't, I'm busy.

Finally, I read Drake's message:

Dani please answer the phone. I really want to talk to you.

I just looked at his text message and locked my phone. I didn't want to talk to him.

I then got up and took a shower. Afterwards, I went downstairs and looked in the refrigerator for something to eat. Eventually I settled with a bagel and cream cheese. As I spread the cream cheese, I got a new text message from Jaycee and Chris.

Jaycee's message read:

We're meeting at the park at 3:00

I replied back:

Alright

Chris' message read:

Well how about tonight? We can chill at my crib. I want to finish getting to know you

Okay, I'll come to your house. Send me the address.

After eating my bagel it was 2:20. I grabbed my keys and walked out of the door.

Reaching the park at 3:05, I parked and sat by the swings where Nicki, Honey, and Jaycee sat talking. Nicki and Jaycee looked hung over.

"Hey yall, how much did y'all drink last night?" I asked walking towards them.

"Alot," Jaycee and Nicki said at the same time.

"I didn't drink that much at all," Honey replied.

"Me neither," I added.

"What happened with you and Chris?" Jaycee asked.

"Nothing really, he gave me a ride home." I said plainly.

"What happened with Drake?" Nicki asked.

"Long story girl," I replied, not wanting to go in detail.

They all looked at me, waiting for me to explain.

I sighed and explained everything to them.

"Girl, that boy is overreacting," Honey said.

"He acting like y'all are official," Nicki added.

"That boy is tripping." Jaycee finished.

"That's what I thought," I said.

"I barely even remember what happened last night," Nicki said putting her hand over her forehead.

"Last time I saw you was when you and Sean left me and Wayne," Honey said.

"Yeah all I know is I woke up in his arms at Wayne's house. I don't think we did anything though. We both had our clothes on." Nicki said confused.

"I barely remember either. I woke up at home in Michael's arms and we had our clothes on too. Well, he did take his shirt off. ;) " Jaycee said laughing at the last part.

"I got an announcement to make you guys!" Honey said aloud, changing the subject.

"What is it girl?" Everyone except Honey chimed.

"Me and Wayne are official!" Honey announced. Our mouths dropped open.

"Aw that's so nice. Congratulations!" I yelled first hugging her.

"Y'all are so cute," Nicki smiled.

"Oooh get it y'all!" Jaycee smiled too.

Just then, Michael, Sean, Wayne, and Drake pulled up to the park, all walking over towards us. Oh God.

Drake

When we got to the park, all the girls were there. Even Dani. I knew she had to notice me too, but all she did was stare at her phone as if there was something important she was reading.

Wayne pushed Honey on the swings, Michael pushed Jaycee, Sean pushed Nicki, and before I could even move, Dani got up from the swings and sat at the bench.

"Michael you go push Dani, and Drake come push me," Jaycee said and glared at Dani.

We did as told and Dani sat right back down at the swings. I just sighed as I pushed Jaycee on the swings.

I really didn't mean to disrespect Dani, but I was hurt too. I get jealous easily and when I saw Dani with Chris, I guess I kind of overreacted. I just wish I would've known that before I disrespected her like that.

After a while, it was just a big awkward silence. Michael and Jaycee were boo loving although they swear they don't like each other. Honey and Wayne were kissing. Sean and Nicki were talking about what happened at the party. Dani and I were just sitting there, not really saying anything.

Later on that day, Wayne scheduled a meeting and everyone from Young Money had to be there. Since Wayne was trying to sign Danielle, he invited her too.

"So I'm here to say two things," Wayne started."The first is to welcome Danielle to the Young Money family. This morning she signed the official papers and is now apart of the label," Wayne clapped and smiled at Danielle. Everyone cheered.

"The second thing is about collaborations. I've paired you all up with someone else on the label and I want y'all to write me a hit." Wayne announced.

He then announced the names of the people who would be paired. Of course, he paired me with her. I sighed and looked at Wayne. He chuckled a little to himself.

"The songs should be complete in a month at the most," Wayne finished.

After the meeting was officially over, I got up and left the studio. I didn't speak to anyone on the way out.

"Aubrey, wait." Someone called after me.

It was Danielle.
