Chapter 6

I woke up the next morning and looked at the time, 12:30. I also had two text messages. One from my girl Jaycee and one from Drake ;). I checked Jaycee's first.

Morning Gorgeoussss. I hope you are ready to chill at the mall today.

I smiled before replying back:

Of course! I have to get dressed first, but you can come to my house whenever you're ready. We can take my car.

I then looked at Drake's message:

Good Morning Cutie ♥

Good Afternoon Handsome ♥

Once I got dressed, I went downstairs and saw Jaycee sitting on my couch eating nacho cheese Doritos. 

I opened out my hand. "I want some Doritos; you know the red one is my favorite."

Jaycee gave me the bag. "Keep the rest; I'll drive us to the mall."

We headed out the door, and I gave Jaycee my car keys. "Let's take my car."

While she drove I tweeted a picture of us and captioned it:

About to hit the mall with my best friend

Once we reached the mall, however, my car was swarmed with paparazzi.

"What the hell is going on?" Jaycee said before getting out the car. I got out too and about ten reporters ran up to me.

"Ms.Brooks what's your relationship with Drake?"

I looked at her like she was crazy before walking past her.

"Are you guys dating?" Another one asked.

"Did you know about his girlfriend Trina?" One asked, and I stop walking. Did I hear what I think I just heard?

"N-No," I stuttered into the microphone. Drake has a girlfriend? What the hell!

They started asking even more questions. Some about the video and others about Drake and I. I didn't answer any of them though. I didn't even want to hear Drake's name anymore.

"Why wouldn't he tell me?" I asked Jaycee, watching her take a bite of her burger.

"Dani you can't trust paparazzi. They like to start rumors all the time for drama. If you really want to get to the bottom of this, I suggest you contact Drake."

Just as she said that, I looked up and noticed Drake walking toward us. He smiled at me, but I looked down like I hadn't seen him.

"May I join you two?" I felt Drake's eyes on me, but I refused to look up at him.

"Sure," Jaycee replied for me.

I looked away from him. I didn't even want to see his face.

"Did I do something wrong?" Drake asked noticing that I wouldn't even look at him.

Jaycee looked at me, waiting for me to say something.

"Who's Trina? I thought you were single." I asked angrily. I knew I shouldn't have trusted him.

"I am single. Trina is my ex girlfriend. I swear, I wouldn't hurt you Dani," Drake replied as he reached for my hand.

"Don't touch me. I gave you a chance after two years of avoiding relationships, and you blew it." 

"Dani, I'm sorry. I made a huge mistake. I should have ended the relationship with Trina before taking you out on that date. I'm sorry." He said before explaining everything about Trina to me. "There's nothing going on between Trina and me anymore. What can I do to make it up to you?" Drake asked with pleading eyes.

I sighed and looked at Jaycee for an answer. She gave me a look that read "forgive him."

"I forgive you Drake. But don't expect me to trust you right away." I replied. He smiled and gave me a hug.

The three of us went inside stores, and Jaycee and I shopped while Drake watched. Drake insisted on paying for anything I wanted, but of course I wouldn't let him.

While we were looking for another store to shop in, Jaycee stopped at a jewelry store. "I really like this bracelet, let's go in here," She pointed inside the store. We all followed her.

As Jaycee looked for the bracelet, I looked at all the beautiful jewelry. Drake walked with me, our hands intertwined.

"See anything you like?" He asked.

"This necklace is beautiful," I said pointing to it in the glass.

"Let me buy it for you," Drake said about to pull out his black card.

"It's alright Drake. I don't need the necklace," I insisted.

"Excuse me, how much is this necklace?" Drake asked, ignoring me.

"$1,200 sir," The lady replied.

"Drake, don't buy me the necklace. I'll be fine withou—," I started until Drake cut me off.

"I'll take it," Drake said pulling out his black card.

When the lady gave Drake the necklace, he put it around my neck.

"It looks beautiful on you," Drake said.

"Thanks, but you shouldn't have bought me it." I replied.

"Too late." Drake smirked.

When we looked up, Jaycee was gone. I texted her. She said that she wanted to leave us alone so she left the mall and was going to return my car at my house.

"So what now?" I asked.

"Are you hungry? I'll take you out to eat." Drake asked.

"Let's get some McDonald's," I suggested.

"McDonald's? I was expecting Red Lobster or something of that sort."

"I'm not like those other girls you've messed with, Aubrey." I smirked before leading the way to McDonald's.

After eating, Drake drove me home. Just when I was about to walk inside the house, Drake spoke up.

"Young Money is having a celebration party for the new video. It's already reached #1 on the charts. You have to go." Drake said.

"Alright. It better be fun," I replied jokingly.

"Cool, I'll pick you up around 8:30." Drake smiled before walking back to his car.
