The ride to the airport seemed like it took two seconds. I was really nervous to meet Drake's mom. I wanted to make a great first impression, and I didn't think that popping up in her house unexpectedly would be a good idea.
As soon as we got on the plane I texted Drake. He told me that he let his mom know about the situation. She was perfectly fine with everything.
I breathed a sigh of relief. I looked to the right, where Tamara was sitting in the chair eating cookies and listening to some music. The plane was taking a while to take off because apparently the pilot was supposed to switch shifts, but the second shift pilot was running late. I decided to read through one of my magazines to pass the time by.
A few hours later, I was in Canada. It was the first time that I had ever been to Canada. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to spend it with Drake. I had to admit, it was a beautiful sight. I wanted to explore Toronto so badly, but I had to go to Drake's Mom's House first.
Tamara and I got our luggage, and we walked to where the car was waiting for us to take us to our destination. The driver grabbed our luggage and put it in the trunk of the car. Tamara got inside of the car first, and I followed.
Once I got inside of the car, a familiar face sat in the passenger side. It was Drake.
"Aubrey!" I exclaimed.
"You missed me?" He flashed his million dollar smile.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I couldn't leave you guys to come to Canada alone. I set this whole thing up. The "late pilot" was an excuse so that I could make it here before you two." Drake pulled out two roses. He handed me one, and Tamara one.
I smiled. "You're so adorable," I sniffed the rose. I loved the way roses smelled.
"Well, let's go check out Toronto." Drake said before going to the driver's side of the car.
We spent all day all over Toronto. Drake took us to his favorite places. It was extremely fun.
It was getting late, and Tamara was beginning to fall asleep in the car.
"You ready to go meet my mom?" Drake asked.
"Yeah." I said. At that moment, I was feeling mixed emotions. One side of me was excited that we were about to meet Drake's mom finally. The other half was scared to death. I don't even know why I was so nervous. I mean, Drake did say that she was excited.
It took about thirty minutes to get to his mom's house from where we were.
We had been driving for a while when Drake finally slowed down the car. He went inside of the driveway of his a nice sized home.
While Drake unloaded all three of our luggage from the trunk, I picked up Tamara and allowed her to lay on my shoulder while she slept.
Drake's mom met up with us at the door. She had heard us when we first pulled up.
Drake and his mom hugged briefly, and once she let go of him, she looked at me and smiled really big.
"This must be Danielle. Hi!" She gave me a tight hug. She was only about an inch or two shorter than me, and at first I thought she was way shorter compared to Drake's height.
I hugged her back. "Hi!" I smiled and looked at Drake who was smiling back at us.
"And this must be Tamara. Oh my gosh, she's so beautiful." Drake's mom said softly, trying not to wake up Tamara.
"Thank you," I smiled.
We went inside of the house, and Drake picked up Tamara. He went and put her to bed before coming back to get the luggage so that he could put it in our bedroom as well. While Drake grabbed the luggage, Sandi (Drake's mom) started talking to me.
"So Dani, tell me about yourself. Drake already told me about how you sing and dance. What made you start dancing?"
"Well, I guess it just was in the blood. My grandmother used to dance when she was younger, and she owned her own dance studio. She knew that I always had a passion for dancing, so she gave me her studio once she got older." I explained.
"Oh okay. That's interesting. I loved the song that you had did with Drake. Take Care. You really have vocal talents." She smiled.
"Thank you." I smiled back.
Soon, Drake joined us downstairs. We all sat in the living room and talked.
"Well, are you guys hungry? I cooked dinner a little earlier." Sandi said.
"Sure," Drake said before getting up and heading over to the kitchen which was right next to the living room where we were sitting.
Drake made a plate for me and him. Drake's mom stayed in the living room, beginning to watch TV while Drake and I sat in the dining room eating.
"How do you like it so far?" Drake asked.
"She's so nice! She's really wonderful." I smiled. As soon as I saw Sandi's welcoming smile, I wasn't nervous to meet her anymore.
"I told you she was excited. She's always so cheerful. It's amazing." Drake said before eating a spoonful of food.
"That's really awesome." I said beginning to eat as well.
"Man, I missed this cooking." Drake said before laughing.
I laughed too.
After we ate, we went back to talking to Drake's mom for a little while. Eventually, we all got tired and went back to our rooms. Tamara was in the guest room while Drake and me were in Drake's old bedroom.
Drake and I took our showers.
"I can't believe she kept everything the same," I said, looking at all the posters on the walls and trophies around the room.
"Yeah, that's my mom for you. I'm going to have to show you the 'studio' I used to write my mixtapes at. It's in the basement." Drake said as he scrolled through the channels on the television. I laid next to him, looking at all the TV shows and movies that were on.
We eventually fell asleep together, with my head laying on Drake's chest and his arms wrapped around my waist.
