Chris lay next to me with his arms wrapped around my waist. I had woken up to the cries of Tamara, and soon Chris was awake also.

"It's your turn, I checked on her at 3 am," I said sleepily.

Chris grunted and eventually got up out of bed. A few minutes passed and soon Chris came back in the room with Tamara. He was feeding her milk and sat her in bed in between me and him.

"Good morning Tamara," I said smiling.

She took the bottle out of her hand and started clapping and laughing. Chris and I started laughing.

I then got a text message and reached over for my phone which was sitting on the night stand next to the bed.

One was from Drake and the other from Eli.

Eli:

Hey Dani, Melanie and I just bought a new house and are having a house warming party. You and your family should come. It's tomorrow at 2. The address is 354 Washington Drive in Beverly Hills. I hope to see you there.

Drake:

Thanks for agreeing to do a collaboration with me. I'll email you the draft to the song I made. Maybe you could write a verse or two for yourself.

"Chris, we've been invited to a house warming party. It's with an old friend of mine from high school and his fiancee. It's tomorrow in Beverly Hills. You wanna go?"

"I'll see if I'm not busy. What time?"

"Two. They invited Tamara too."

"Alright. I'll try."

Chris then got up to take a shower. Tamara had finished her bottle and was now messing with the TV remote. I went on my email to look at the draft Drake sent me:

I needed to hear that shit, I hate when you're submissive

Passive aggressive when we're texting, I feel the distance

I look around the peers that surround me, these niggas tripping

I like when money makes a difference but don't make you different

Started realizing a couple places I can take it

I want to get back to when I was that kid in the basement

I want to take it deeper than money, pussy, vacation

And influence a generation that's lacking in patience

I've been dealing with my dad, speaking a lack of patience

Just me and my old man getting back to basics

We've been talking 'bout the future and time that we wasted

When he put that bottle down, girl that nigga's amazing

Well, fuck it, we had a couple Coronas

We might have rolled a white paper, just something to hold us

We even talked about you and our couple of moments

He said we should hash it out like a couple of grown ups

You a flower child, beautiful child, I'm in your zone

Looking like you came from the 70's on your own

My mother is 66 and her favorite line to hit me with is

Who the fuck wants to be 70 and alone?
