Emily's POV

How, how does she just come out of nowhere and take her from me? Avery was mine and Elizabeth just shows up for a second and now she has Avery wrapped around her finger. Not only Avery but Marisa and Spencer, all three of them are just wrapped up in this girl who can't even barely speak English. What does she have that I don't, why is Avery so enthralled by this, dumb little girl? Elizabeth won't ever be able to give Avery what she needs like I can, so why is she wasting her time on her and not even looking my way?

I watched how every time Liz even just opens her mouth Avery basically drops everything to give her her full attention, but when I try to get Avery's attention she barely gives me a second of acknowledgement. Junior year I thought Avery was finally coming around to me, that one retreat we went on with the youth group, we shared a tent and she kissed me back when I kissed her. She actually gave into her temptations with me, and I felt like I was on top of the world while in her lap with her lips on mine. It was like nothing else mattered to me or her except each other at that moment. If she wasn't so tired we probably could have gone farther but we just went to sleep after our make out and it was never brought up again. I wanted to ask her what she felt all summer but she was so busy with Tommy moving to college and the church that I couldn't get a minute alone with her long enough to talk to her. Then when school started she got so wrapped in that ginger it was basically like I was sidelined, like I was just a nuisance. In the locker room I was trying to get her to remember that night but she just kept pushing me back, then when I heard what she said during her fight with Marisa only made it clear that as long as Liz is in the picture she will never want me.

As I watch her fawning over Avery's perfect hair, it's almost like she's flaunting it in front of me about how close she and Avery are. It almost makes me sick when I see them all over each other. I know they say jealousy isn't attractive on a young woman but I can't help it when it comes to Avery. I hear them call over the intercom of a soft lockdown and take a deep breath. I look at the door and wait patiently.

Not before long there's a knock on the door and Mrs. Carson opens the door to reveal two cops and a search dog along with the principal. The principal is the one to speak first to Mrs. Carson before she turned around and looked at our table.

At this point Avery has woken up and is looking around confused, before Mrs. Carson speaks. "Elizabeth, can you come here?"

Liz looks at her confused before looking back at the table and putting all her stuff in her bag before getting to her feet and walking over to the door. They usher out into the hall and Mrs. Carson returns to the front of the class after closing the door.

"Let's uh get back to work everybody," She commands before returning to sitting at her desk.

"What was that all about?" Avery asks, looking back and forth between Marisa and I.

"I'm not sure, but you got something in your hair," Marisa points to her with a slight smirk on her face.

Avery brings a hand to her head and feels Liz's handy work she did to her beautiful hair. Avery pouts before shaking her head and starts to slowly take out the hair ties.

I wonder what they're gonna do to her, suspension definitely but I wonder how far they'll take it. But a little bit of time is all I need to get Avery to get a little distance between her and that German. Once Avery realizes she's no good she'll lose interest and turn to me for comfort and affection which I will be willing to give to her. Then maybe we'll be able to talk about that first kiss finally, and actually be able to talk about a possible future together. I just wish Avery could see how much I love her and am willing to do for her.

My future planning is cut short when there's another knock on the door. Mrs. Carson answers it to find its only the Principal.

"Avery Sullivan, Marisa Garcia, Daniel Simons and Emily Thompson please go with the Principal," Mrs. Carson calls.
