-(Y/n)s POV-
Amane-sama walked into the dining room where me, Kiriya, and Kanata were talking and helping me pronounce my name before they needed me for the meeting. I look to see Amane-san walking over before signing that it was time for the ceremony.
So its time I'm quite nervous to be honest. I thought to myself as I put on my sandals and grabbed my katana sheath. I then turned to follow the three out to the porch as they remained silent.
We continued walking as they exited to the outside. I stayed back a little hesitating weather to go through with this.
Kiriya turned around to see that I was nervous so he and his sister Kanata walked back up to me grabbing my hands as well. We had made the code signal for if I am doing good with my pronunciation or not. One squeeze was doing well and two means I need to slow down, and three means to either shut up or restart.
I grabbed their hands as they dragged me out to the porch. Im not good with new people I thought to myself remembering the first time I met Kyojiros other tsuguko Mitsuri. She was an interesting person, but I never met her in person. I just watched from far away before Kyojiro-ni trained me.
I was suddenly standing in front of the other Hashira. It was kinda awkward, so I decided to bow towards them. Plee-sure to meat chu I said pausing in the middle of my first word.
Both children squeezed my hand once, while Im over here thinking whether that means one or two squeezing since they both did. I leaned up towards the others with a bunch of excited people with what I assume is a bunch of questions as I saw their mouths move. I can kind of read lips, but I am not the best at it.
I felt Kanata nudge me with her elbow as the two kids let go of my hands. She looked at me nervously before I thought that I might want to say my name, so I did Here we go I thought breathing in and then out just as quickly.
*(y/n)...* I said quietly, grabbing the edges of my haori.
-Sanemis POV-
(Y/n) stood up in front of everyone and stood looking at us awkwardly before bowing, getting a couple gasps from the others. "W-why are you bowing?!?" Pinky said, getting up slightly before sitting back down because the mice man (Uzui) whispered something to her.
"Tch." I scoffed, getting the attention of Muichiro and Gyomei. "Why are you so on edge, Shinazugawa." Gyomei asked while Muichiro was staring off into space before pointing towards a slightly nervous (Y/n).
You can tell that (Y/n) was totally freaking out on the inside before she stood back up straight. "Have we met before, ma'am?" Mitsuri asks, before she also gets interrupted by (Y/n).
"(y/n)..." She said quietly, as she grabbed the edges of her haori. She is totally dying on the inside. I snicker quietly, but doesnt go unnoticed by a certain insect. (Shinobu)
"What are you laughing at?" She whispered in a dangerous tone. I ignored her because it wasnt any of her business. I look back up to the porch to see (Y/n) looking at me so I signed the word, *louder* to her having her eyes widen a little before looking towards the others again.
"I'm (Y/n)." She said a little louder, sneaking a look at me as I gave a thumbs up at my knee. I feel like a messenger bird now I thought, closing my eyes for a minute before hearing another question.
"Is that your first name or last name, (Y/n)?" Shinobo asked next to me as I noticed (Y/n) staring off into space like Muichiro. "It is rude to ignore someone (Y/n)-san." Shinobu said, her voice sounding as soothing as ever.
"She kinda reminds me of Tomioka, very unflashy." Uzui said, shaking his head no. With this comment I was about to yell at his face before master Kagaya-san interrupted me. I was on one knee about to get up before he raised his hand. I sat back down immediately.
"Ah before you all get on the wrong page, (Y/n)-san is deaf." Kagaya smiled as he snapped his fingers towards (Y/n) who was looking towards Tomioka. 'Why is she looking at him!' I thought, getting quite angry looking back up towards Kagaya-sama.
"You didnt tell us she was deaf Shinazugawa-kun!" Shinobu yelled towards me waving her hands out. She sighs after a minute before asking Kagaya-san a question.
"I told you she was quiet..." I grumble as she glared at me.
"I would like to run some simple tests on her, master-sama." Ubuyashiki would nod of approval saying something along the lines of it being better to know your companions. 'That is going to be a long night for (Y/n) then.' I thought as I sweat dropped at the thought of waiting for them to get done.
Uzui sits up posing while saying, "That is quite flamboyant! Wait, she couldn't hear my flamboyant voice, un-flamboyant" The sudden moment did get the attention of (Y/n) as she did look at him.
(Y/n) then looks at me and then the kids next to her. °(Y/n) is the new flame hashira filling in for the spot of Kyojiro Rengoku.° The kids signed / spoke as they faced towards (Y/n).
(Y/n) got embarrassed as she stood awkwardly again fidgeting with her clothing. Man she is a total mess. "Pfft!" I let out a little laugh, having myself get punched in the arm by Shinobu who pretended she didn't do anything.
"Okay, before I end the meeting, who here knows sign language or even a little bit of sign." Kagaya-san asked, as a couple of us raised our hands. I look around to see that Mitsuri, Shinobu, and Tomioka raised their hands.
"I count four." Amane-san said, counting the three, plus myself since she saw me sign to (Y/n) a couple times before.
"Ara ara~ Tomioka-san I didnt think that you knew sign. Are you fluent?" The annoying insect beside me asked, getting too annoying as I didn't listen any further into their conversation.
"Who is the fourth one? I only counted three." Mice man stated as he held up three fingers. Amane-san then pointed towards me, having me shift in my spot.
"Sanemi-san is quite fluent with sign." Kagaya-san said, putting on a bright smile. "He taught some of my children sign language a few years ago."
"I forgot about that to be honest." I said to myself as Uzui said something snarky. "What do you do with your life?" He laughed as I got annoyed yelling, "Idiots, yall should have learned sign before joining the f****** corps!"
Kagaya-san then put his finger towards his lips, silencing us. "Mitsuri, Shinobu, and Tomioka Are any of you fluent?" He calmly asked as Kagaya-sans children had (Y/n) sit down next to them.
Shinobu spoke up, beating the other two to answer. "I am afraid that I am not very fluent, but that doesn't mean I cant learn for (Y/n)-san". She spoke pointing up.
'How annoying that they are only doing this because the master asked...' I thought as I stayed quiet in my spot crossing my arms in annoyance.

This took me so long 😭
I had to re-edit all the chapters because one of my companions I should say read this chapter, and then decided to re-edit the other ones. 🤣😂😭
I am also working on drawing (Y/n) so you all can get a better idea of what she looks like.
But this was a fun chapter to write, I did want to hit my laptop a couple times, but ayyye it fine now. 😂
