Chapter 16

-3rd Person POV-

Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu were training with Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi so that they could get back the momentum since the trio was stuck in bed for a few days. AHHH! This is going to kill me! Zenitsu yelled as he seen Naho processed to stretch out Inosuke while Inosuke processed to laugh like a maniac.

I dont wanna do that! The blonde continued to yell as Tanjiro tried to explain to him to be quiet since it was so early in the morning and how not everyone was awake yet. Zenitsu then turned to the door to see a (Y/n) standing there.

(Zenitsu hasnt heard of (Y/n)

Zenitsu then runs over to (Y/n) clinging to her legs as she was still in her demon slayer outfit since there was not a secondary pair of clothes to change into. Dont let them kill me! Protect me, pretty lady! Zenitsu proceeded to cry as Tanjiro told him to stop and how impolite it was to cling to random people. Tanjiro held Zenitsu back as he then looked up mid-way into his next sentence. Zenitsu, you shouldnt cling-... to-

Tanjiro paused His brain His thoughts Everything was silent for him Not even the sound of Inosuke saying his name wrong got his attention until the realization of Kyojuros sister being in front of him.

-Tanjiros POV-

~Flashback~

Please, Mr. Rengoku I said with tears bridging my eyes as we sat face to face in the center of a grass field of the previous fight with uppermoon three. Enough of that j-just think about yourself now. I said with a louder voice as Inosuke proceeded to shake beside us on the verge of tears himself.

Can you heal up with a breathing technique? I said with a shaky voice, still believing that there was hope for him to survive.

No Very soon Ill be dead Rengoku said with a quiet yet suttle voice as he was staring at the grass. Before that happens, I need you to hear me out With him saying that, I saw Rengoku-san raise his head up, as I continued to hear some whimpers from Inosuke.

Rengoku smiled a little as he started his next sentence. I have a twin sister named (Y/n), and my youngest brother named Senjuro. Please tell them to follow their hearts, and to walk down the path they feel is right You should get to know (Y/n), I bet she would love to meet you. I am pretty sure you will meet her soon as she is going to be the next flame pillar in my place.

I will, I promise I will meet her! I thought to myself as I knew I wouldnt be able to form sentences. There was a few seconds of silence and a few birds started chirping and stopped as Rengoku started speaking again, as if the birds knew to quiet down. And tell my father to look after himself

And lastly about your sister, know that I believe in her. I accept her as a part of our ranks Your sister shed blood to protect the people inside that train from demons I saw that Rengoku was taking longer breaths. And anyone who does that regardless of what is said to the contrary is a rightful member of the demon slayer core.

At this point I had more hope in turning my sister back into a human. The tears that were bridging at the edges of my eyes then started falling down my face.

So head your head high If you are feeling disheartened that you are somehow not enough, set your heart ablaze. Try your eyes and look ahead. Rengoku-san said to me as I sat there with tears rolling down my face.

You may feel like digging your heels in but the flow of time waits for no one. It wont patiently stand by as you grieve.

I believe in each and every one of you With that being said he let out a simple smile assuring to us that it is going to be okay, but deep down I wished that I could have helped and I just cried.

-End of Flashback-

When I snapped out of my trance I noticed that I was crying while holding onto the young girls hands. This must be (Y/n)-san. I do remember her now, she was the girl with the wind Hashira, that day. That was also the day I went to talk to Shinjuro-san to deliver the message that Rengoku wanted him to hear.

I let go of her hands and I wiped my tears with my haori and I stood up and bowed. IM SORRY! I stated firmly. I then notice Shinobu-san walk in. Shes deaf. Shinobu stated as she leaned on the door frame beside her.

Deaf? I thought before instinctually signing *Im sorry.* over and over. This seemed to surprise Shinobu and the others as the expressed sentences of, I didnt think you would be a person to know sign language. Thats so cool! What the heck are you doing with your hands! I can do that too! Watch!

I then got hit over the head with her hand, but I didnt cover my head as it didnt hurt. °You are Kyojuro-sans sister, am I Correct?°

I then heard a collective "WHAT!" from Zenitsu and Inosuke as they soon stood next to me checking her out, comparing her to Kyojuro-san. *I am.* (Y/n) responded after getting more comfortable and she then walked over to the three butterfly girls and they seemed to tackle her to the floor for fun.

This chapter didn't take me long to do other than having to do all my chores before finishing, but the quote from Kyojuro Rengoku is not mine.

Thank you everyone for reading this, it has been fun to write this, and the fact I haven't given up on this yet is kinda surprising since I have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time.
