Chapter 22

“CAW! CAW! Hurry up! We gotta get there quick!” The wind pillar’s crow yelled as it flew ahead in the snowy breeze. Shinazugawa crow would worryingly fly ahead twenty yards or so to see how far they would have to run, but would fly back to yell at the Kakushi to hurry up.

After a few minutes of the squad of five running, the Wind Pillar’s crow started to fly ahead, not alerting the others as the crow had done this a couple of times before. That was until the crow started yelling at Shinazugawa to get up. The Kakushi ran faster toward the scene as they found an exhausted hashira with an enormous wound on the side of his stomach.

“GET THE STRETCHER HE IS STILL ALIVE!” The leader of the squad yelled as he pulled out the medical supplies for emergency stitches as it will hopefully stop any more blood loss.

The scattering of feet and the crunching of snow was all you can hear as to the surroundings, but as to people or animals talking, it would mostly be Shinazugawa’s crow yelling at everyone to hurry back to the butterfly mansion saying, “Y’all before hurry your asses! CAW!”

‘He spends too much time with Shinazugawa-san…’ One of the Kakushi thought to themselves as they all moved the pillar onto the stretcher and were ready to head back to the estate.

-3rd Person POV-
“Go Inosuke! You got this!” The three butterfly girls yelled as well as Tanjiro as they cheered for Inosuke who was undergoing his full-body reflex training, as he was the last one to have yet tagged (Y/n).

(Y/n) was getting tired out as she had to get chased by the other two every other ten to twenty minutes as Tanjiro had to pump them up for the chase. Zenitsu was the second one to finish the reflex training as he was just able to keep up to her as he was trying to get her to marry him, but got annoyed when he thought she was ignoring him.

Inosuke had run (Y/n) into the walls a couple times as it was to tire her out. Inosuke then got really close to tagging her until she pulled the same mood on Inosuke by jumping off the wall, but when (Y/n) was going to jump off Inosuke’s back, he turned around now facing the experienced pillar and grabbed her ankle, tagging her.

“YEAH! HAHAHA!” Inosuke laughed his usual laugh as he ran out of the room for a minute and then came back in with a shift in his mood. He looked confused at the most as he walked over to Tanjiro and the others.

-(Y/n)’s POV-
After I got up off the floor I went over to the table where the three girls were at and picked up a ceramic cup as I went to take a drink from it, it shattered all in my hands. I suddenly got a bad chill not noticing the fact that the cup shards had cut my hand.

The blood was pouring in my hand as I tightened my hand and walked over to Tanjiro and them confused as they seemed to be talking about something serious.

*What’s going on?* I asked Tanjiro and Aoi as I clearly had a puzzled look. Tanjiro turned to me before answering my question. °Someone got severely hurt during a mission. That is what Inosuke says at least…°

I nod as I continued to get the unusual feeling that I felt earlier forgetting about the fact that my hand was bleeding and I bow toward them before walking out of the room to the hall. The halls were empty, but I felt the pitter patter of feet against the floor. I jog down the hall quietly, as to not interrupt the kakushi as they worked.

I tapped one of the kakushi on the shoulder as I pointed to what was going on, but before they could respond I pointed to my ears and did a ‘x’ with my pointer fingers. Then the kakushi started to sign to me.

*Oh! Lady-(Y/n), I’m sorry for being busy. I was helping with the wound on the wind pillar as he got really hurt during his last mission.* She said seriously to me. I was in total shock and in despair as to the news I just heard.

*C-can you take me to him?* I asked as my hands shaked. The kakushi looked at me before walking down the hall, but she turned around walking backwards just to sign something to me. *I’ll take you there to see him, but you gotta let me take care of that wound on his hand.*

I looked at my hand in shock, completely forgetting about the wound before speeding up next to the shorter female and nodded, loosening the grip on my hand letting a few drops of blood hit the floor.

We entered the room where Sanemi was passed out flat as Shinobu and Aoi were reopening the emergency stitches, as they were a bit sloppy. Shinobu asked Aoi to grab a towel from the end side table to wipe the blood that came out of the wound.

I felt like I was on the verge of tears, but I held them in as I felt as if I was going to get in the way of his recovery, so I stayed quiet and patiently as the kakushi from earlier stitches back the cut as it was quite deep.

During the time of the kakushi stitching my wound, Shinobu would be sitting on a stool leaning to the side as she would swiftly stitch his wound as Aoi would every now and then swipe his side with the now bloodied towel.

~A few minutes later~

The female kakushi that helped me earlier left the room as Aoi soon left the room as well. I maneuvered to the side of his bed after a few minutes, as Shinobu continued to stay in the room checking stuff off the clipboard as she had checked his blood pressure a few seconds before.

She then showed me the clipboard as it asked why I was still here. I got embarrassed because I can’t just say that I’m here because I like looking at his face or anything, but I panicked. *He told me that he would come back safe. I'm gonna hit him when he wakes up.*

Shinobu looked at me as I looked back up to her gaze. *That’s not the reason you are here.* Shinobu signed, as she grabbed the clipboard back. I was taken aback at how straightforward her statement was that I almost fell out of the chair trying to reposition myself.
