Chapter 35

-Tanjiro’s POV-
I was sitting on the rooftops with Inosuke trying to see what we can gather from our stay so far, but Uzui, Zenitsu, and (Y/n) weren’t here yet.

“Like I’m saying, there’s a demon at my place!” Inosuke proceeded to tell me as he flung his arms in weird poses trying to imitate the demon. “This is what it was like I’m sure!”

I just looked at him totally confused on how he was trying to explain the demon. “Well… Ugh well… Just hold up a bit…” I stated nervously as Inosuke tried explaining again, this time having his hands wiggling like a spider.

“Like this! Can you tell if I do this!?” I put my hand out in front of me trying to come him down saying something. “I think Uzui-san, Zenitsu, and (Y/n)-san will come here for our regular meet up.”

Suddenly Uzui showed up by himself, surprising me since (Y/n)-san was supposed to be with him. “The other two ain’t coming…” Uzui said, giving me some unwanted nerves as I decided to find out what he meant.

“What do you mean the other two ain’t coming… Where’s (Y/n)-san? Wasn’t she with you?” I asked, getting more nervous by the second at all the possibilities. “I think I put you guys in terrible danger. The desire to save my wives has caused me to make a grave mental error.”

Uzui didn’t turn around to face us as he stayed focused on the other rooftops trying to spot anything. “Zenitsu’s and (Y/n)’s whereabouts are currently unknown. They stopped contacting me last night. (Y/n) was asked to go with Zenitsu, so I let her as she offered to go.”

Me and Inosuke looked worried as we didn’t know if our friends were safe. “Get out of here now. Your ranks are too low… If it is an upper moon, you can’t deal with them…” Uzui suddenly stood up stating something I didn’t want to believe.

“I will regard people who stopped sending me letters as dead… From here on I will work alone.” I got upset saying something that was on my mind. “No! Uzui-san! We…”

He then turned to me saying, “Don’t be ashamed.. Winners stay alive. Don’t mess up this opportunity.” He suddenly disappeared as Inosuke yelled after him. “Hold it old man!”

I looked down at the shingles on the roof as I spoke to myself not expecting Inosuke to listen. “Maybe he didn’t believe us because we’re members of the lowest class…” Suddenly Inosuke spoke of something smart which shocked me, but I listened. “We’re currently at the Kanoe rank right now. We are higher up now… Fourth from the bottom of the chain.”

“Huh?” I asked him, but mainly to myself as to how he remembered that. Suddenly I got determined as I thought up a plan of what to do next. “Yeah, now is not the time, my bad.”

“When night falls, I will head over to the Ogimoto House where you’ll be. Wait for me until then. Acting alone will be dangerous. Today I’ll finish investigating the house I am currently in.” I stated as Inosuke yelled, “WHY!?”

“I’M TELLING YOU THAT THERE IS A DEMON HERE! SO COME OVER NOW! YOU REALLY ARE A TOTAL DUMBASS!” Inosuke yelled, pulling my cheek as I held up four fingers.

~After A Few Minutes Of Talking~

“I believe (Y/n), Zenitsu, and all three of Uzui-san’s wives are alive. And I will act with that in mind. I’ll save them for sure.

-Tengen’s POV-
I was outside the house where my wife, (Y/n), and Zenitsu went missing and a man walked in the building. I suddenly then appeared behind the man as he sat down with a kimono in his lap. I held a kunai to his neck as I stood behind him.

“What happened to Zenko, (Y/n), and Hinatsuru? Answer quickly and don’t look back.” He gulped as he was stuttering to answer. “Zenko vanished… Hinatsuru got sick so she went to a more lowly brothel…” The man said with fear as his voice shakes.

“What about (Y/n)?” I asked, intrigued on why he didn’t mention her. “The deaf one? She woke up in the middle of the night sprinting through the brothel. S-she seemed to be hurt, but didn’t let up help her as she was the one who found out that Zenko vanished.”

“What happened after that? Where did she go?” I asked calmly, but I was nervous if the demon had killed her. “She left soon after leaving nothing as to why. She had something sharp in her hand though, but that is all I can say since I passed out soon after…. Sorry!”

I was quiet for a minute as I was thinking of what (Y/n) was doing, but better yet of how she was hurt. “Say what is on your mind right now. Who do you suspect?”

I could hear the man's heart rate as it started to beat faster and faster. ‘I’m going to have to leave soon.’ “Trust me and talk. I will kill whoever it is. I will avenge your losses…” Suddenly his heart rate calmed a little as he seemed angry. “An oiran named Warabihime. She lives in a room in the northern part of the building where the sun doesn’t penetrate.”

With that I left with a breeze as I headed to the room within a few seconds. ‘Maybe I can find (Y/n) looking for the demon as well…’ I thought as I opened the window to the room with no one in it. ‘Not here… She’s probably out hunting people.’

I left the room running along the rooftops deciding to head to Hinatsuru’s location as well as searching for the demon’s presence. ‘If she’s still alive, she should have some information.’ I thought, jumping between the roofs. ‘Either way, the demon will head back here at dawn. I’ll definitely put an end to this with my own hands.’

Ahhhh I'm so happy that people are still reading this series. I thought after I kept uploading people would stop reading since there ain't enough chapters being updated, ya know?

So I have been making a bunch of chapters and been trying to upload two at a time.
