A New Flame (Sanemi x Deaf Reader)

“Will you marry me?”

That sentence has been in my head for the last few weeks as we have yet to tell Uzui or Tomioka about us, yet we haven’t brought up the topic ever since. I got annoyed at all the thoughts that were jumbling around in my head and sprawled across the table defeated.

‘Should I ask Uzui about some ideas?’ I was thinking as I had the piece of parchment in front of me, as I was spinning the feathered pen in my hand. ‘Nah, he would probably make it too big of a deal before he decides to help out.’ I thought before my thoughts were interrupted.

Suddenly someone burst through the door and ran down the hallway. ‘Who the hell was that!’ I thought as I jumped really badly and ran to the sheath katana on the rack.

(-(Y/n) isn’t used to sudden noise as she has only had her hearing aids for a few weeks.)

I grabbed the katana not unsheathing as I noticed a familiar voice. “Don’t just burst into the estate you're going to scare her!” Suddenly Uzui and my fiance were in the same room as me.

“I didn’t actually expect her to be on guard…” Uzui stated as he has yet to know about me having hearing aids. “You can put the katana down. I'm not here to kill ya.” He stated as he lightly tossed the shorter male to the floor.

In response to this, Sanemi rolled before swiftly standing up, having the same instant as if he was in battle. “I wou-ld of had so-omething ma-de i-f I knew people were com-ing over, Sanemi-san.”

Uzui seemed pretty surprised about me talking and looked at Sanemi. “Shinobu and some people from the swordsmith village seemed to have been working on hearing devices for (Y/n)-san and we found out they worked… I have been helping her with speech and stuff, I guess you can say…” Sanemi said as he got quieter toward the end feeling embarrassed.

“That's actually kinda cool… Sorry I haven’t visited you since you got released at the mansion…” Uzui stated before standing up from his seat. “WERE Y’ALL EVER GONNA TELL US YOU TWO WERE GETTING MARRIED!” Uzui yelled, pointing aggressively at us before calming down before sitting back on the mat.

“We were going to tell y’all…” Sanemi grumply said, looking away, as I finished our thought. “I was abo-ut to tell you a-nd Toom-oka-san.” I said pointing to the left side of me toward the parchment and pen that was scattered across the floor.

Moki came in soon after to clean the mess up saying a simple hello before telling us that she was going out with her potential lover. “I see…” Uzui said as he crossed his arm across his chest before looking toward the window.

A kasugai crow landed on the table next to me with a note tied to its foot. I looked just as confused as the other two in the room and read the note in my head before summarizing it for the others.

~The note said~
Dear (Y/n) and Sanemi,
Congrats on getting married! Well not officially, but you know what I mean. I am heading over there now as I was informed by Uzui’s wives to come in on short notice. Suma said she overheard the conversation as she was sweeping and told Makio and Hinatsuru as they were too busy on the other side of the estate. They then “yelled” at me to come over.

I looked up from the note calmly saying that Suma, Makio, Hinatsuru, and Tomioka were gonna be here soon, and said we should wait to talk any further about the wedding before they got here.

As we were waiting, I asked a simple question I was wondering this for a few minutes now. “How d-id you know w-e were getttt-ing married?” I said slurring some words before Sanemi looked up.
