Chapter 70

-Sanemi's POV-
'He can see through our movements!? Not to mention that every one of his slashes is surrounded by these little chaotic blades. And they're always changing in length and size. There's no set form. I'm not surprised Tokito lost.' I thought, deflecting some of the other attacks as (Y/n) blocked some of the attacks behind me that I couldn't.

‘Damn it, this guy’s a monster!’

-Sanemi’s POV-
'I wanted to ward off this attack completely, but it's so strange and warped. It would be impossible to defend myself if I didn't have a ton of experience behind me. And his speed.' I continued thinking as I felt this demon's gaze  upon me.

'And this guy's using fucking breaths! A demon with unnaturally high regenerative and physical prowess is using fucking breaths. And his power and speed are still climbing up!' I thought excitedly before spouting aloud, "Fun.. This is so much fun!! This is a demon worth killing!!" I yelled with a grin as (Y/n) came slicing and dicing attacks around me.

'Breath Of The Wind: Second Form: Claws-Purifying Wind.' I lifted my sword upward towards the right, above my head and unleashed four vertical slashes at once down towards the upper moon resembling claws.

The attack cut halfway through the demon's sword before he deflected my breathing form to the side creating another wave of rotating crescent slashes. (Y/n) and I jumped in the air dodging the attack toward the floor, as we slightly hovered in the air before sending an attack from above.

I swung my blade hard as I connected with the other's blade again causing the force of wind to erupt around us. Upper Moon one then sent out another swarm of crescent moons as a few almost cut my face.

I heard a gasp, yet I didn't have time to turn around as if I did, I would have a chance of getting critically injured. I then kicked my leg up as I had Genya's sword between my toes. I was almost able to stab the upper moon in the neck with it before he backed away starting another string of attacks.

(Y/n) came up beside me grabbing the spare sword as she used it as an extra weapon in battle. 'I didn't know she could dual wield.' I thought before noticing she had several cuts along her arm. We were taking blow after blow until Muichiro yelled out my name in worry. "Shinazugawa-san!!" "Aniki! Aniki!!"

I scoffed as I continued to deflect the cursed attack of the demon. 'I can't even fucking blink!! I was so close to dying just because I barely messed up the tip of my swing!! Not to mention (Y/n)'s also hurt as she is bleeding over her newly made haori.

'She told me about it as we were training. She said she liked the idea of merging the haoris as it made her feel closer to him.' I thought, as I felt blood run from my nose. "Long ago it was the Sengoku era… and this was the way I… hmm right.. How the wind pillar and I both improved our swordsmanship skills."

(Y/n) seemed to notice something I didn't as she tried to warn me, but I didn't have time to see what she had to say. But before anything happened, the upper moon backed up, but that's not what surprised me. What surprised me was what happened next.

"Shin-za-gawea!!" Was all I heard before the demon's breathing technique hit me dead on as I slid back at the power. I looked behind me to see that (Y/n) also took some backlash as we were both bleeding. If she wasn't there behind me, I don't think I would be standing.

"Haah." I wheezed out looking toward the injured female behind me. She had a but along the side of her wrist and a cut along her neck. It was almost fatal, yet she covered it with her hand. 'Fuuuck..' I thought before the demon's started speaking.

"Hm… You two held out for quite some time.. up until this point. Even with the warning of your deaf comrade, even so, if y'all move.. your organs will spill out…" Suddenly he stopped talking as he took a breath of the air.

'Wait? (Y/n) was the one who tried to warn me?! No no I shouldn't be worried about that. I worried about her wounds. If she doesn't get the neck wound fixed, she will bleed out.' I thought before looking up as the effects started to happen with the demon.

I then started laughing like a maniac as I reminded him of something some demons tried to comprehend. "Cats to silvervine, demons to rare blood." (Y/n) stumbled back as I assumed she must have felt dizzy, so I lunged forward toward the upper moon demon as it was staggering back a little.

"Whoa, buddy, what's the problem? You're staggering there. Looks like my goddamn blood works on upper moons!!" I said confidently as I kept announcing my hidden ace. "Demons get drunk once they get a whiff of my blood. And this blood's the rarest of the rare once-in-a-lifetime shit! Now let's have a fucking feast!!"

-Kokushibo's POV-
I started to get clumsy, and started to stagger around a bit more than I would like to admit. I probably would have been fine if there's one of them with this special blood, but it was overwhelming as both of these pillars had it. I tried not to breathe as I didn't want to feel as drunk as I already was.

'This boy.. Is still moving despite his wounds?' a question as I stared through my soul. 'He seemed determined, not to mention against the other hashira I've encountered so far, this contest would have already been over…' I continue to dodge his attacks as a strongest blade with more force than he probably have noticed.

'He stopped the bleeding himself. Is he coagulating his blood? With breathing? Is the female doing it as well? Are they flexing their muscles to stop the guts from spelling out?' I thought, still staggering around as the demon slayer before me started attacking again.

"Either way, it's not so good a human should be able to do.. I have never seen it before… Interesting.." I said still able to keep up a good fight, yet being more sloppy than I want to be. "How long has it been since I've experienced this feeling of slight drunkenness? It's pleasant.. You two.. It's marechi after all.."
