Nightmares were a common occurrence for the raven, but this time there was a different feeling to it, a more physical, realistic one than before. She felt as if she were there, physically running from something, her body aching, her legs giving out as she continued to push on.

She turned to see a wolf, its coat shining in the moonlight. It transformed suddenly, into a taller being, and though she couldn't see their face, she noticed they were wearing a pantsuit of sorts, and they had their hair in a neat bun atop their head as they stood there, watching her. She slowed to a stop and turned, against her will, considering it was a dream. They mimicked her movements, intercepting in front of her. They looked at her, and Wednesday shivered. They slowly moved in and whispered something that sent chills down her spine, the strange sensation of their hot breath echoing across her skin as she looked with wide eyes.

"They're coming for you."

She shot awake, feeling her body shaking, the exhaustion from the running that had taken place in the dream.

Looking over at her clock, she saw it was only 4:36

She sat there awhile, a bit shaken by the dream, but also trying to decipher it, unsure who they were, and trying to figure out their role. It wasn't someone like Galpin, right? Were they trying to warn her? She laid back down, not bothering to try and go back to sleep. She knew if she got up and wrote that she would wake Enid, and she knew practicing on her cello would have the same result.

She found herself wanting Xavier to comfort her, and that almost frightened her. She didn't want to become dependent on him, but she knew just wanting to be around him wasn't exactly going to result in her becoming dependent on him. She didn't want to constantly be with him or necessarily need him to function, she was perfectly fine being solo, but there were times when she did long for his presence.

But she knew she wanted him around more than she had ever imagined she would. Her thoughts ran wild into the night, a mesmerizing train of thoughts as she let herself travel from the coasts of her mind, the gentle grains of memories sparking up in her mind as she gently soothed herself with thoughts of him.

Finally getting through the night, she was relieved when she saw the sun rising, slowly getting out of bed and dressing for the day. This weekend felt extremely long; she was almost anxious to get back to her classes. She had decided that she wanted to talk to the principal but would wait until tomorrow since classes weren't in session. She stared at the pocket knife that lay on her desk, the leaves she had wrapped it in beginning to dry out into a crispy shell of the once nutrient-filled green.

She decided she would go into town, and grab some bags so she could stick all the evidence they collected into them. A blacklight also might come in handy, in identifying any fingerprints on it.  It was only 7:48, so she would probably wait a while before she left the room. She certainly didn't want to risk going out alone again. Her phone buzzed, and she walked over to it, sure it was another silly alert this phone had deemed important enough to make a chiming noise to alert her.

But instead, it was her stalker and an image from last night. Someone was hiding among the trees, and they had managed to capture a picture of her and Xavier walking around.

It didn't spook her; the idea someone was in the woods watching her. But rather caused her to suddenly feel protective over Xavier, and she vowed to herself to do her best to protect him. Because she couldn't risk letting him get injured on her account, as it had already been far too dangerous in the previous semester.

The monochrome girl went and sat outside her window, watching as the sun continued to rise into the sky. She had always enjoyed gloomier days, but something about the sun today made her feel at peace. Perhaps the gentle stream on her skin, or the way it fluttered through the trees, displaying a montage of shadows across the ground, like freckling the earth.
