IRL - The New Year's Day Babies

It's new year's day and it was now 2023, emily slept though the night while tom and sebastian celebrated the year coming in so woke up about 4 in the morning while both tom and sebastian were still fast asleep so before they woke up, emily was on her roomlying on her bed looking at fan art on deviant art of one of her favorite ships on her tablet, she was also listening to music that was playing though her laptop and the music was king bowser's castle from yoshi's woolly world, meanwhile behind her and the egg inside the incubator was still an egg with a crack on the top and it still hadn't hatch since emily found it 4 months ago, emily was worried it was going to become a dead egg but the heart monitor on the incubator kept showing it was alive and wanted to keep going, suddenly the egg starts to light up and making cracking noises, emily didn't hear the noises at first as the music was slightly covering the noise but then emily heard it and turned around
"*gasp* it's finally hatchin'!" emily says after gasping in excitement and she watches the hatching from her bed
the egg hatches more and then it finally fully hatches to reveal what inside, inside the egg was...2? there was 2 creatures inside the egg which made emily shocked
"twins?!" emily says shocked and she goes over to the incubator
she opens the incubator and takes out the 2 creatures inside the bottom part of the egg, she then places them on the bed and examines them (picture of the twins will be at the bottom of the fanfic), the 2 creatures were different to each other and both of them look to be as big as a newborn wolf puppy, the left one was a chocate brown colour with a white snout, it also had a white tuff on it s chest and white paws, it had a blue and purple tuff if hair on its head and antlers coming out the sides of the tuff, it had blue fur halfway down on its back and big wings that were chocolate and beige, it had stripes going from the end of the blue fur to the bottom half of its tail and at the end of the tail was a big fluffy tuff, emily looks at it and she sees that it was a boy.
the other one was a beige and white colour, it had a little horn coming out of its head that was red and pink and little brown dots above its eyes, it had white around its snout going to its chest and had white paws, it had cream white and milk white wings and it's tail was stripes with dark and light beige with the tip of the tail being white, emily looked at it and sees ot was a girl
"oh? boy and girl twin, dat's cute" emily says after looking at the baby pair
emily takes a picture of the pair and sends it to lauren with 'look, the egg hatch and it's twins! the beige one is a girl and the chocolate one is a boy' underneath it, emily then starts grooming them and the twins start suckling on emily's milk bar, emily then sees a text from lauren and looks at it
'oh! that's rare, usually the sparaby had one big creature with all the animals mixed together but rarely it will be twins' lauren says in her text and emily looked surprised then she smiles with her tongue sticking out
'that's amazing! so which baby has which gene?' emily says then asks with a curious face and waits for lauren's response
"hmm...it seems that the beige girl has the smilodon big cat, the tasmanian tiger, the pegasus and the unicorn dna while the chocolate boy has the dire wolf, the japanese wolf, the haast's eagle and the kirin dna' lauren says and emily looks at the pair to check if lauren was right
'...yeah, looking at then now and that looks about right' emily says after looking at the pair
'have you thought of names for them?' lauren asks and emily thinks but couldn't think of anything
'no, not yet, i have a talk with ben to see what he and i come up with together and we also need to see what their personalities are' emily replies explaining and lauren sends a 🤔 face
'yes, that makes sense, well, i have to go now and work on this project, talk to you later' lauren says and emily smiles
'ok, talk soon' emily says and sends a 😋 face
emily then puts her phone down and grooms the twins as they were finished with the milk bar, after the groom, emily sees that the twins were asleep and they were cuddling each other with the beige girl sleeping ontop of the chocolate boy, emily looks at them and try's to think on a name for them
'hmm...what to call them?...hmm' emily thought to herself as she looks at the sleeping twins with her head lying down
she looks at the girl and the name aurora came to mind as it was the name of luna and celestia's mother that recarnated into emily but she can't think of a name for the boy as she was stumped, she had to look up names in google for a good name that goes with aurora and she ended up choosing shadow for the time being but both names are just place holders till her and ben can figure out names together, emily sighs and she goes on her tablet to carry on what she was doing before the eggs hatched, a few hours later and both tom and sebastian were awake and were now downstairs eating their breakfast together but as they were eating, they were kinda missing emily as they knew she was awake as music was playing out of her room and if she awake early, she would come down and see them, talk to them for a mintues or two about a dream she had or something funny she saw and then go to the kitchen to grab something to eat but today she didn't so they were curious and worried on where she was so after breakfast, sebastian decided to check on emily while tom was putting the bowls, cups and spoons in the dishwasher, he went to emily's room and pushes the door opens as it was already a little open which was odd as emily always has her door mostly closed but not locked closed
"emily?" sebastian says as he pushes the door open and looks at her bed
he sees emily on the bed and she seem to be napping as she was pummelling the bed while a music box type some was playing on her tablet, he also sees 2 other things which is a. the 2 small newborn animals next to emily and b. the broken egg inside the turned off incubator, he then went over to emily and started petting her on the head which makes her turn upside down showing her belly and she starts pummelling the air while purring happily
"emily?" sebastian says calmly and emily sticks her tongue out
"hmm?" emily hums in reply as she was too happy and focusing on the music and pummelling
"did these babies hatch out of that egg that you've had in that incubator for 4 months?" sebastian asks as he points to the incubator then looks at emily
"...reah, dey born few hours ago...at 6am" emily says still pummelling, purring and being upside down
"they look cute" sebastian says as he picks up the chocolate boy to look at him
"reah, chocolate one boy and beige one girl, can't tink of name dou, was tinking aurora and shadow but i dunno" emily says still happy by the music
"they look odd like the girl had a little horn coming out of her head and the boy has half of a scaley blue back" sebastian says after he picks up the girl and looks at them both
"girl is a smilodon big cat, tasmanian tiger, pegasus and unicorn mix while boy is a dire wolf, japanese wolf, haast's eagle and kirin mix" emit says now turning to her side but keeps pummelling
"...aren't they all extinted animals?" sebastian asks and emily nods still pummelling
"reah, but creature called sparaby had all mentioned animals in its dna...but now extinted and beebs are last of species, also very rare dey are twins" emily explains as she was still being really happy
"do you mind if i show these to tom, he'll be happy to see them?" sebastian asks and emily nods her head slowly
"reah, bring back done, only beebs" emily says calmly still happily and sebastian smiles at her
he then leaves the room and goes to find tom who was in the bedroom sorting out his clothes
"hey honey" sebastian says happily when he walks into the room
"yes, darling?" tom replies still  busy but was curious what got sebastian so excited
"so, you know about 4 months ago on my birthday month that emily found an egg whike helping out those british car loving trio?" sebastian says and tom hums a yes as he remembers "well...it hatched eariler and look at these 2!" he adds sounding cuted out and holds up the twins
tom looks over at sebastian and he smiles on how cute the twins were, he then goes over to sebastian and takes the beige girl out of his right hand while sebastian had the chocolate boy
"they're so cute! what are their names?" tom says with a smile and he starts petting the beige girl around her head
"emily said she doesn't know what to call them" sebastian replies as he looks at the chocolate boy then at the beige girl "she also that the beige one you have and this chocolate one have a mix of 4 different extint animals" he adds and tom looks at him curiously
"really?" tom says interested and sebastian nods at him with a smile
"yeah, she said the girl has smilodon big cat, tasmanian tiger, pegasus and unicorn in her while the boy has dire wolf, japanese wolf, haast's eagle and kirin" sebastian says and lists off the animals that he remembers emily telling him
"...didn't she also say that these 2 are the ancestors of casper?" tom says as he remembers emily saying about casper ancestors
"i think she did, yeah" sebastian replies also remembering what emily said "now i want to know, is emily now taking in weird mixed animal children as this is the 2nd-i mean 3rd mixed animal baby she's taken in" he adds and both him and tom smile at each other with a little chuckle
"she seems has a way on finding and adopting animals that are like her" tom says amused as he hold the beige one up to his face
tom and sebastian have a little snuggle with the twins as they were really fluffy and soft but then sebastian had to take the twins back to emily as she would start panicking they were gone so he takes the beige one from tom and he goes back into emily's room to see her lying down looking at her tablet, he hands the twins back to emily who starts licking them and then sebastian leaves emily to groom the twins, emily spent all day in her room looking after the twins and after lunch time, ben with mima and casper came to visit emily to look at the twins, mima and casper really liked the twins and they had a snuggle sleep while ben and emily look at the sleeping pile
"so, what's their names? have you thought of any?" ben asks and emily shrugs in reply
"i dunno, i was thinking aurora and shadow but i don't know if they fit" emily replies and both emily and ben go to think
they think for a bit with emily having to use google to help but then she gets an idea
"how about...we still call the chocolate one shadow the girl can be called sunny!" emily says and gives a smile "as in shadow night and sunny day, it also goes with mima and casper's name so saying mima, casper, sunny and shadow sounds nice to say" she explains and ben nods
"yeah, they sound nice" ben says with a smile and emily open smiles happily
"yay! we now have, sunny the beige sparaby and shadow the chocolate sparaby" emily says happily and she snuggles up to the twins
mima and casper join her and then ben joins her too, they then all fall asleep and they all look like a happy family.
