"Crystals, huh?" Minato elbowed Kakashi playfully, "An amazing gift."
"Yea, but it's just a bummer that I am her weakness. What if I hurt her?" He glanced at his sensei, who seems to not be worried at all. They were out in the training field, watching Obito and Rin fight each other.
"Well, would you hurt her?"
"Of course not! Are you crazy? She's the only family I have... Left..." He trailed into silence, and the feelings that he shoved in his vault begins to shake him. "She can already pull an A-rank Jutsu, even if it was by accident."
"Then that settles it, Kakashi-boy. You have grown to be a fine shinobi, you must have more trust in yourself. Doubt and feelings; they're suicide for us."
"I promised her parents, I promised her I would protect her."
"You must recognise your gift as well." Minato smiled at him, "You are the prodigy of the White Fang of the Leaf."
He had a closed-eye grin, although covered by his mask. His heart began to warm up, which was a rare occasion. Minato was a significant inspiration, especially after losing his father. Although he was still on the edge, his sensei had saved him from plunging into the black hole of agony and darkness.
"You're free to train with Akira. You're no longer bound to this team, you know? Maybe the two of you will be a great duo in the future."
"But you're my sensei."
"If it makes you feel better, I can help."
"Akira's going to train with us?" Rin squealed excitedly,
"Finally! A new opponent!" Obito pumped his fist in the air, oblivious to what she is capable of. "You'll see, Kakashi!"
Kakashi rolled his eyes at the ball of energetic mess, but at the same time, his heart fluttered with the support Akira was getting from his teammates. He was just content that he could go back to the good old times, more reasons to spend time with her, "But she's still a genin, she's still bound to her team."
"Right." Minato scratched his chin, "Well, I guess we'll find the time."
Iruka will definitely throw a hissy fit. He sucked on his teeth in disapproval. It is a drag to have three loud and obnoxious boys in his life when he himself is an introvert. Respect to Spiky for thinking about his comrade, but his shrill voice rings the ear.
After a short lunch break, Team Minato went back to the training field. It was Kakashi's turn for the spotlight. He was on another level, and it required his sensei's full attention. Ever since Akira discovered that she was a Kekkei Genkai, he has been determined to master his Lightning Release. He wanted to be worthy enough to protect her. There was no doubt that all these feelings for her developed through the countless times they bicker and duel each other, and their parents being so close was just added bonus. If he was honest with himself, his love for her is endless to the extent that he hasn't figured out what she is to him. Sibling? Best friend? Lover? He's still a seven-year-old boy, he needs time to figure this out. Nonetheless, it was still pressure for Abi to trust him with his daughter, but it was an honour as well. He would gladly protect her, even if it kills him.
"Are you ready, Kakashi-boy?" Minato snapped him out of his trance,
"Yeah." He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration. He concentrated on collecting his chakra in the palm of his right hand. Heat began to warm up his hand, and it began to tremble from the overwhelming power. It was so strong that he had to hold his wrist with his other hand.
