He didn't say he hated me, but it still hurts! Akira lay in her bed, staring absentmindedly at the ceiling. Her face was wet from the fat angry tears, and her heart aching because Kakashi had shredded it. She felt like a fool, for loving a boy who treated her like she was nothing when all she did was love him sincerely. Baba was there with her, its paw being squeezed to death by her fist. She came home slamming the door, and stomping all the way up to her room. What does he even mean when he said he has nothing to say to her? Goodbye? Be good to her parents and Choza-sensei? It was never official? She never expected anything to become official so soon, but that doesn't mean that what they always had is pointless and meaningless. Akira wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, and throw a tantrum because nothing is making sense. Where did she go wrong? What did she do?

Knock-knock! "Akira, are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" She shouted, failing to hide that she had been crying.

"What's wrong, munchkin?"

"Nothing!"

"I'm coming in, okay?"

"No! Leave me alone, dad!"

"All right. Are you sure?"

Abi always asks her if she was sure before coming to a decision. That's why he has so much faith in her choices. He would especially ask her if she was sure in times of distress, such as this. You don't make the best choice when you're angry. This gave her a second to contemplate, only to realise she wanted her dad's comfort. "Okay, you can come in."

"Heard you stomping in." He peeked in, "Just checking if you've ruined the floor or something."

"I'm angry."

"I can see that." Abi let himself in after Akira seemed to calm down a bit. He sat on the edge of her bed, taking Baba off her deathly grip and straightening the ears. "I hope it's not Baba you're angry at."

"Kakashi made me feel like an idiot."

"How so?"

"He doesn't want to see me anymore."

"Didn't the Fourth Hokage put him in Anbu? He's probably just busy."

"Well, he didn't have to be an ass about it!"

"Who taught you to curse?"

"Sorry, dad. I'm just so angry I could punch him again!"

"You punched him?"

"Of course! He was annoying!"

He wanted to ask if Kakashi fought back, but knew the boy wouldn't even think about hurting her. "Okay, Akira. Calm down. Did you two try to talk it out?"

"He said he has nothing to say to me." She wept again, choking on her own words.

"Okay, okay, come here." Abi pulled his daughter by her arms and scooped her up to his lap. He let her hide her face in his broad chest, just like when she was little. "There, there, my little girl. I can't believe how big you are. You used to cry about missing toys, now they're boy problems. I can't believe how big you're getting."

"What did I do to him, dad?"

"I don't know what you kids did. He probably has his reasons."

"Why are you defending him?"

"Hey, I'm in the middle. Both of you are my kids."

"But I'm your own flesh and blood!"

"Akira, I understand where you're going." He tightened his grip around her, about to drop some bombs on her. "But you also have to understand that being with someone who grew up in a different home than you will see things differently."
