"I'm fucking late!" Kakashi cursed to himself but made no attempt to actually hurry the hell up. He leisurely strolled through the streets. Who wouldn't want to enjoy a good walk in such sunny weather? A time of peace was something rare in his life, given that he had experienced the horrors of war and terror at a very young age. It taught him to love simple things; a leisure stroll, staying in bed all day with Akira, doing Guy's petty challenges, and bullying Iruka. Just simple life pleasures. It's been two years since the couple married, and their lives had just been filled with happiness with each finally coming to peace with their pasts. He was supposed to meet her by the training ground to train together.

"Kitsune!"

He stopped by a flower shop, impulsively wondering if he should get Akira some.

"Kitsune!"

But would it raise any sort of suspicion? Getting her flowers out of the blue. It wasn't their wedding anniversary yet, and her birthday had passed. Should be fine, maybe he could get some tonight.

"Hey, Kitsune! It's not your real name, but you never told me your real name."

She was never a flower girl, though. She was never the gift type of girl. Whenever he asks what she wants, say for her birthday, she would always say the same thing; him and about him being healthy and happy. It just adds pressure whenever he gets anything for her.

"The man with the silver hair! Yes, the cute one!"

"Hm?" Kakashi finally realised it was him who was being called. He turned on his heels to see a stranger that he may have run into before. But who? And what's with Kitsune?

"Never thought I'd see you again."

"Likewise." He lied. The man couldn't remember, and he was digging into his brain to see if she was a threat or not.

"How have you been?" She had a hospitable smile, implying that she was approachable. People would easily trust her because of her bubbly attitude. Her jet-black hair swayed with the light breeze

"I've been well. You?"

"Looks like you don't remember me." She chuckled with her hand over her mouth, "So, have you finally decided? Did you come back or did you let go?"

An 'oh' escaped from his mouth involuntarily as soon as he remembered who she was. His heart rate climbed up, and his eye darted left and right. This would be a bad time for Akira to suddenly show up. "J-Jane Doe..."

"You seem happy, stranger."

"Yeah, I married her." He smiled awkwardly, scratching his nape. The reason why he told her straight was to declare that whatever they had before was all in the past. No monkey business.

"That's great! I'm so glad to hear that!" Jane Doe clasped her hands together,

"I guess I haven't had the chance to thank you for the things you said that night. Thank you, really. It really made me think, and I realised I made the right choice to stay." He relaxed a bit knowing that she had no lewd intentions like last time. She was very straightforward a decade ago, by showing up naked at his door.

"I would love to hear the story."

"It's nothing. I guess everything started to fall into place in time."

"Well, I'm happy that you found your way back. It's clear that you're no longer in pain, or at least you were able to grab it by its neck and slam it on the ground."
