"Kakashi! My eternal Rival!"

"Oi!" He greeted nonchalantly, waving his hand. He was leaning on the railing of a small bridge that stretched across a narrow canal.

"We haven't seen you in a while!" Kurenai waved back,

"You're so busy these days." Asuma complained,

"So, what have you been doing these days?" Guy swung his arm around Kakashi, "How is it like in Anbu?"

"I can't tell you that."

"He can't disclose any of his missions, you idiot!" Asuma retorted,

Kakashi glanced at Asuma and Kurenai curiously. Those two were acting differently with each other. They were acting like how he wanted to act with Akira. His heart sunk a bit knowing that it could be them.

"It's a nice night to hang out. We're meeting the rest of the gang for some yakiniku. You wanna come?"

"We'll catch up!" Guy answered for the two, "There are some things we have to do!"

He gave Guy a side look, and couldn't help but smile. The two had a weird connection. Whenever they spend some time together, there is always this satisfaction and relief. Kakashi will sometimes find himself missing him. He has been thinking about what he did to Guy last time. Guilt had been haunting him but he hasn't collected the energy to see his friend again. "I want to apologise."

"You're forgiven!" Guy winked with a wide grin, "But what are you apologising for?"

"For being a bad friend."

He finally stood still and his features softened, "No. You've always been a good friend, Kakashi."

"Are you up for a challenge?"

His eyes sparkled like a little child, "Always! I'm very happy my power of youth has influenced you! We'll start with something easy!"

"Okay!"   

"Come on! One more! Please!"

"Fine."

"Why don't we just do Rock-Paper-Scissors again?"

"Not that again! Think of something more exciting! But we have an early start tomorrow, so let's pass for tonight."

"I have all this pent-up energy inside me!" Guy pumped his fist in the air, "Now is the time for diligent training!"

Kakashi stopped in his tracks as the hairs on the back of his neck suddenly rose, "Guy..."

"Are you afraid, my friend?"

"Guy, stop." He glanced nervously behind him, "There's been a chill in the air."

"What? It's your attitude that's causing it!" Guy scowled,

"Listen-"

A crowd rushed past them, screaming in panic. Just seconds later a large explosion shook the village grounds, causing some people to trip and fall.

The two jonin got out of the way and ran in the opposite direction. Kakashi's hunch was bothering him, and a million things began to run around his head.

"Kakashi! We should catch up with the others!"

"Let's go!" He picked up his speed, dodging every panicking civilian who was headed towards the shelters. He had every intel information in his grasp, but he couldn't make sense of what was happening. Although he seemed calm on the inside, he was actually scared and worried. He doesn't like uncertainty, and he couldn't deduce the current situation.
