"Sweet buns? I thought you don't like sweets!" Akira asked, taking a bun from the paper bag Kakashi was holding.

"Special occasion." He shrugged nonchalantly,

"We should eat something you like on your day." She retorted and took a bite,

He knelt down on the ground, dusting his father's headstone with the back of his hand. Then he replaced the wilted flowers with new ones and changed the water in the vase. "Hi, dad. It's just me and Akira."

"Hi, Uncle Sakumo! We're having sweet buns for Kakashi-senpai's birthday today!" She bowed to Sakumo and sat on her legs,

"You're cheerful today."

"I'm happy, senpai." She looked up at him with eyes glistening with contentment and gave him a wide grin that crinkled the corner of her eyes, "I'm with my family right now."

"Me too." It felt good to admit that. He had always seen this place the wrong way. It had always been the place that reminded him of his unworthiness and failures, a place of consequences for his past mistakes. Akira opened his mind, not only from the mind-blowing sex but her sincerity as well. How she handled him, and how she handled herself when she got stuck in a similar situation as him. She may be younger, but her mind is way more mature than his. She was always so composed dealing with his chaotic self. That's why he finds peace in her. She's right. This should be a place where he feels at home the most since everyone is here.

"We're all finally together in one place."

"Yeah." He absentmindedly responded, his head somewhere in Akira Land.

"Kakashi-senpai's getting better, Uncle Sakumo. We're hanging in there. Don't worry, he hasn't been in any trouble."

Kakashi moved on to his mother's grave, replacing her wilted flowers with new ones as well. The woman he doesn't have any memories with yet had left such a big hole in his heart. Hey, mum, I'm gonna marry her one day. I wish you can see her now. She makes me happy. I hope you like her.

"Senpai, can mum have these flowers? She likes the blue ones."

"Of course, love."

"Thank you!" She shot up and ran to her parents like they were really there, waiting for her to come home from the Academy.

"She hasn't changed a bit, dad." He chuckled to himself and followed her. In front of Abi and Ari, he bowed and put his hands together, closing his eyes to pray; Mama, Uncle Abi, thank you for trusting me with Akira. I'm sorry I put her through so much pain. Please, give me another chance. I promise I'll make her feel loved the way you loved her. And I'd like to ask for your blessings to marry her. I'd like to give her the family she deserves. Please give me a sign when the time is right, mama, Uncle Abi.

"Not to worry, I trust you with Akira. You have grown up to be a fine shinobi, Sakumo must be very proud of you. The path to fully mastering her Kekkei Genkai will be challenging, and I believe you can protect her from herself in any case she loses control." Abi's voice resounded in his head,

I remember what you said to me that night, Uncle Abi. I shall dedicate my life to protecting her. He opened his right eye to see her praying as well. She was radiating and it just made him more assured that he made the right choice not to let the Hokage drag her down the same path as him. He rarely gets angry, but hearing Hiruzen's crazy suggestion made his blood boil. She doesn't deserve to be in the shadows, she belonged in the light.

She caught him watching her and gave him a smile, holding her hand out so he would take it. She was returning to her old self again, the happy and loved little girl she was. After cleaning her parents' grave together, they moved on to Rin.
