You have everything with you, yome?" Kakashi asked with his hands on his hips as if he was a teacher scolding his student. They stood by the gate, early in the morning, about to embark on their mission together. They've lost count of how many missions had been completed together. They were sent to cut the supply route of illegal weapon dealers that were trying to penetrate the village. The duo was chosen by Lord Third himself.

"Yes."

"Enough supplies?"

"Yes."

"You-"

"Onee-chan! Onee-chan!" A cute voice called. An eight-year-old boy who was 'pleasantly plump' approached her, his arms raised and opened for a hug. He wrapped his arms around Akira's waist, giving her a strong squeeze. "Where are you going?"

"I'm headed for a mission."

"Oh no. Are you going to take long?"

"I hope it won't take too long."

"Come for a meal with me and dad."

"When I come back, all right?"

"You promise?"

"I promise, little man."

"Okay!" He shoved a half-eaten bag of chips at her, "Please take my snack so you don't get hungry!"

"Thank you! I will enjoy this!"

"Are you going on a mission with onee-chan?" The boy asked Kakashi,

"I always go with her."

"Okay, that's good! Please keep my onee-chan safe!" Choji grinned widely, his eyes almost disappearing as he squints.

"That's a promise!"

"You can join us for a meal too!"

"I'd love that, kid. Thank you for inviting me."

"Choji! Come on!" Another voice shouted from a distance, "Let's play!"

"That's my friends!" He pointed at two boys of the same age. One had blonde spiky hair and the other black tied into a spiky ponytail. "I'm off to play now!"

"All right!"

"You boys play safely! Don't run off too far!" Akira ruffled his hair, "I'll be back soon!"

"Okay, onee-chan! Be safe!" Choji waved as he ran to his friends, "Wait for me, guys!"

Kakashi snuck a glance at the blonde-haired boy with a small smile hidden behind his mask. He had grown so much, and it was a relief that the boy could still laugh. He's gotten so big, sensei. Don't worry, I'm always watching him, Kushina – just as promised! He then darted his eyes towards the Hokage mountain, "Well, we're off now, sensei! Be right back!"

"They grow up so fast." Akira blurted, "I'm so glad Choji is friends with Naruto."

"Does he ever talk about Naruto to you?"

She peered at her husband who was still staring at the three boys as if he was daydreaming. Despite his calm and collected façade like he has no care in the world, she knows that Naruto is always in his mind – even if he doesn't show it. She gave him her hand and intertwined her fingers perfectly, "I promised Choji to keep it a secret."

He giggled, "Are they treating him nicely?"

"They may be troublemakers in the Academy, but they're always together. Iruka told me many times that he always punishes the three together. They're always up to no good."

"Doesn't matter. I only care that they stick together. I'm just glad some people actually care about him. I owe Choza-sensei and Shikaku-san a lot. They raised fine boys."
