Mirae's POV

I fixed my glasses and typed on the virtual keyboard. Pressing on the keys and looking at the letters being displayed as I type, on the screen in front of me.

Codes.

Lines of codes.

The new application that I created to to look into the future by analysing someone's eyes or mind. I named it my name, Mirae, meaning future.

It's 3029. What can we expect?

To the readers from the 21st century, have you ever thought what would be the picture of the future 1000 years from your time?

Nanotechnology and renewable energy, pluripotent cells, virtual reality, cryogenics, terraforming. The science and technology from your era will explode with hope and potential.

Perhaps, you should be celebrating then because all of those things become a reality in the future.

What's more? Technology rapidly advanced and progressed. Let me give you a small glimpse.

After humanity acquired more advanced knowledge, it persisted making new discoveries in every field. And so in short, approximately 10 years from what you believe is the current year; virtual reality, AIs and avatars begin to take over all aspects of people's lives.

30 years later, the economies of the developing countries grew. All the countries were highly developed and the inequality of living standards were eventually eliminated. No one was rich or poor, everyone was equal.

50 years later, the researchers found out ways for gene manipulation. And as a result, human life span was extended.

What am I saying? Well, you might not believe me but . . . It is true. I'm just providing information about 1000 years of human history from our time.

Now, continuing my history lecture... After 50 years, cures for dementia, cancer, and many other maladies become possible through genetics.

After 100 years, natural disasters are eliminated. Thanks to environmental and weather control technologies, there are controlled seasons and no earthquakes.

After 200 years, the mechanism of the brain is analyzed. Memories and thoughts can be implanted from one person to another.

After 300, humanity finally conquers natural death and extends their lifespan up to 300 years.

I am 98 years old currently and I haven't even entered the adult phase of my life as yet.

Haha. Yeah.

The first 100 years is considered childhood and teenage. The next 100 are middle aged. The last 100 as the old age.

School? We don't do that here. When we were 12 years old we had to take an IQ examination in which our careers got decided. We had to dig more into that particular career.

Awesome, right? If you love history, you should study only history. No need to touch math.

But I love math so I never touched history.

So since I'm 98 years old, do I have wrinkles? Bestie, it's future. If we can extend human life it means we are great in cell and collagen transformation as well. We remain young till the day we die, we don't grow old. Even our sex life-

Anyway, the population is under control tho. No worries, you can bang as much as you want. Man is not a fool, they cover their tool.

After 400 years, due to a perfect understanding of physics, humanity unlocks all laws of causality. Coincidence and fate are no more. So if you're here screaming ‘Destiny’ then get out. This book's not for you.

After 500, there are no irregular occurrences. Humankind is perfectly able to control its whole world, basically becoming immortal. In the 500 years that follow, as long as they are supplied with dopamine, humans can live forever.

1000 years later, after more or less achieving eternal life, people started losing their drive to live.

And yet, we were enamored with the period of time a thousand years ago. The time you're living right now. A time when people feared death and the end of the world.

It continued to fascinate us, so we invented various simulations in the form of a virtual reality package. We can experience near to death experience and thrill where we are so deeply immersed that we forget that we are playing a game and it's not reality.

So this is the world, 1000 years later, my friend.

Well, I'm out of those things though. People who want thrill can enjoy that. I'm here happily enjoying coding and eating pancakes.

I press on the button on my desk and the cabinet opens with a glass of nutritional juice that is made from an accurate amount of sugar and fruit extracts in it.

I lift the glass up to my lips and take a sip from it, before looking at the files being transferred to my phone. The app is being created.

"Will this even work? I need a beta test for this application."
