Namjoon's POV

Since Jimin and I have already played extra round, we went given any game this round. But I wished to see Taehyung more. He seemed suspicious to me.

So I asked Jimin to help me fix a camera on Mirae's hoodie, so that we can monitor Taehyung during games.

We were watching Taehyung and Mirae play Indian poker when Jimin commented.

"The Cheshire Cat always appears, disappears, and wanders alone. So Taehyung had to be alone at games, was dying alone, and even survived alone. He's like the Cheshire cat, through his madness he will be able to survive these games."

I frowned at him. Jimin sighed and looked at me.

"These death games are a situation of life or death, but to him the games are just simple games. The truth is, he lacks a will to live. He doesn’t know what he’s living for, and was just interested in finally finding something or someone that was “interesting” in this world.

Although he acts cocky, it’s clear he doesn’t like himself for who he is. He couldn’t help shunning people’s good will and intentions, he couldn’t get by without hurting and manipulating someone.

For what purpose does he live?

He says that, he feels like the only thing he exists is to display “just how empty a human can be.”

Kim Taehyung believes that humans are unconcerned and selfish by nature."

I nodded at his words as he continued.

"Taehyung is mostly seen sneering even when he is angry unless he becomes emotional or regretful, which occurs only a few times. Heavily intense or horrific events don’t ever have him falter. The only times in the series he’s ever seen truly disturbed is the aftermath of the Mirae getting hurt.

He is calm, highly intelligent and manipulative, and analytical at all times. This allows him to triumph in games that require defeating other players, yet because he declares to be uninterested in understanding the human heart.

His capabilities to remain so calm in dangerous situations stems from the fact that he has no interest in the concept of life, both his own and others.

Taehyung would unscrupulously sacrifice other people to achieve his own goal."

Jimin's right. Taehyung demonstrated an expert sense of observation and recollection. During the Muk-jji-ppa game, he was able to determine the opponent's card almost immediately, and was able to make the connection that the opponent should throw a hand which would be in Taehyung's favour.

He was also able to discern Mirae's change of expression when viewing her cards, as well as his opponents, using all these facts down the line to decide if he should bet or fold.

"One of Taehyung's strongest faucets was his abilities in mental math, which gave him a huge leverage in the card games. In this game, he is able to use the chips as an abacus to invent a mathematical formula to follow when betting to maximize his probability of earnings. That is why he's not betting anything now since the possibility of him winning now is less.

During the Muk-jji-ppa, after he predicted his opponent's choice of card, he was then able to estimate the card he should show that he has, then lie about his selection to Mirae to have the exact chance of winning."

"A paradise is not something man should be able to create." We heard Taehyung say in the footage while the dealer was distributing the cards.

"Taehyung is skilled in taking in people's demeanor and personality, and using it to predict how they would act. During Mirae's time with him as a partner, he took advantage of her well-meaning nature, using it to his advantage to manipulate the opponent.

Taehyung's father worked in the medicine of unspecified specialty. They rarely chat because the father would concentrate before the computer among the mountains of medical books.

Taehyung also implies the marriage of his parents was merely for securing the chief chair of their hospital. Lacking parental love, Taehyung followed his father's path to study in medical school as a surgical intern.

He wanted to find out if he genuinely cared about lives, and he wanted to see if saving lives could help him find an interest in life. But the effort was in vain; he was still uncaring as he secretly littered a letter of testament entrusted by a dying patient because his superior asked him to.

Then he left medical practices to form his own gaming company. He used to invest in plenty of death games. I am a model in his company. I modelled for his games at times. Jungkook also knew him because of me."

I looked at the screen again.

Taehyung is not only able to pick up the rules through observation, but is also able to invent a mathematical card counting method to decide how to bet. "Could Taehyung be the game master?"

Jimin then sighed looking at the screen and then at me before saying.

"However, Taehyung may have just been using Mirae as a pawn."
