33: Massacre 💣

Jin's POV

Jungkook and I exchanged questionable glances with each other. With more than 100 people with us.

"We are playing on the road?" He asked and I shrugged. Suddenly, we heard a siren.

The game began immediately after the siren. We saw a man approaching us with a gun in his hands.

"Isn't he the famous, veteran? Shīrabi?" I asked while running with Jungkook.

"Who is that?" Jungkook asked when we saw him firing bullets at people and killing them mercilessly.

It's a massacre.

"Shīrabi is a veteran mercenary which means he is skilled at many kinds of military weapons and strategies." I said and his behind a car with Jungkook beside me.

"He is free to roam around the city to hunt for his victims, I guess." He said and I nodded.

"But what are the rules?" I asked and Jungkook looked at me. "This is like a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter video game in real life. So I think we can clear the game if he gets killed out or else its Game Over for us if we get killed."

We looked at the guy killing people mercilessly and then taking out a mini bomb from his vest.

"He has access to all sorts of weapons, including rifles, guns powerful enough to shoot through layers of metal, flamethrowers, and even bombs. Won't it get over sometime?"

I shook my head and pointed at the cart folding him behind.

"At any point, he can deposit more materials by taking them from his cart. In addition, Shīrabi is wearing a bullet proof vest and fireproof mantle, and is equipped with a positioning device which allows him to know the locations of all players, even in a building."

"Jungkook! Move!" I said, pulling him away from the car when just used the flamethrower. The car exploded Ave turned over while Jungkook and I spotted something.

His positioning device is something that we quickly realize after escaping Shīrabi's attacks.

"Look at his tactic. Attack players who gather closely in order to cause greater death toll in a short time." I said and he nodded.

I concluded this after witnessing his relentless attack on just the first few minutes of the game.

We hid near the edge of the huge building. With this position, if he comes from above, then everyone can evacuate by running down. Ideally, there can also be traps. If he comes from below, everyone can climb onto the roof and access the other buildings run.

It doesn’t need to be said that the this guy is extremely dangerous.

It’s also best to stay with only 2 or 3 others. It’s always good to have others to rely on, but there can’t be too many as he’s more likely to want to pick off larger groups.

Engaging in battle with him indoors is suicide. If there are any hallways and stairs, he’ll use the opportunity to shoot anyone running down it.

"Because of his tracker, there’s no point in hiding. The only sensible thing to do if caught by him is to just run, Jin!" Jungkook screamed when we heard bullets being fired at us.

When running, it’s best to run erratically to avoid his fire, but running too erratically can be slow. The ideal place to retreat is a place indoors with lots of cover and shelter, like a library, grocery store, or a hotel.

We stood in front of Captial Tech Hotel.

I saw Aguni, from the Muk-jji-ppa game, trying to take down Shīrabi by charging at him, and still charging even after he’s been sprayed with bullets. But Shīrabi just shot him once, making him collapse on the ground.

Obviously, not everyone is capable of this.

Similar to hiding, players hunting down the military official shouldn’t gather in large groups because traveling stealthily and efficiently will take too long, and he will just pick the group off.

I ran and ran while thinking about strategies to just clear the game.

Shīrabi has a ski mask at all times, but it doesn’t protect his eyes. Eye irritants like paper spray and hand sanitizer can and should be used to subdue him.

That reminds me. I took out the sanitizer spray from my pocket and held it.

I cannot find Jungkook.

Where's he?

I looked around to see myself inside the hotel.

Due to his vest, killing him conventionally with gunshots or a knife won’t work.

I saw Jungkook approaching me while panting. "I was able to destroy his tracker, and that’s the biggest priority when hunting him down as that opens the opportunity of ambush."

My eyes widened. "How did you?"

Jungkook just chuckled, catching his breath. "I play a lot of games."

"To kill him, the viable options are limited: crafted bombs, chemical weapons, making him fall from a great height, or landing a shot through his ski mask openings."

Jungkook chuckled before smirking at me.

"We have the advantage of numbers, and should use it wisely."
