THAMSANQA
"Wake up, beautiful.", I whispered in her ear.
I can tell she doesn't want to wake up, most probably because she's tired from last night's activities. I didn't know she'd be so wild in the bedroom and every time we do the deed, she manages to catch me by surprise. If I didn't know better, I'd say she had been practicing all thess years.
She told me all about her last boyfriend and how he passed on. It's a shame he got involved in a car accident but then again, it was God's will. I should feel somewhat remorseful that he's gone but instead, I feel relief. Relief that I got the chance to be with a woman I love, which had been a while since I felt that way.
"No leave me alone Bonga, I'm tired.", she sulks.
Yeah she has resorted to using my second name, which is Sbongakonke, Bonga in short. She says it suits me, whatever that means and that it's a name she prefers using because she's able to abbreviate it. Apparently, Thami sounds a bit too feminine for a guy like me and that's why Bonga is the "perfect" fit.
"You have to wake up or you'll be late again and we don't want that now do we?", I chuckle.
She lets out a sigh and says, "Yeah I guess you're right."
Once she's out of bed, I get up and make the bed. Nombuso is a bit of a klutz, and by that I mean she's a bit clumsy. That doesn't take away anything from her though but it actually makes her even more loveable. But I don't know if that's how she is or if it is my neat freak self talking.
I have way of wanting things to be how it is exactly in my mind. Everything must be in it's place and not a drop of water in the sink. The only reason her and I work in the first place is that she does keep her house clean, always. But it's just not how I want it to be, the placing of items and furniture that is.
My bad habit is that I want to rearrange stuff if I see it fit, but that is not exactly guest like. So I have to refrain from sitting in one place for long in case I get the urge to do a little revamping. This annoys a lot of people and I'm surprised she hasn't called me out on it since others can't hide their annoyance for long.
After fixing the bed, I get dressed and go to the living room to wait for her so I can drop her off at work. Today I'm in a hurry and I have no time to spare making breakfast, so she'll just have to get something at the cafeteria. But she's not a foodie so I know she won't care much about eating this morning, she prefers skipping breakfast anyway.
She walks towards me from the passage dressed in a regular pair of blue jeans, sneakers and a T-shirt. This woman can truly make anything look great on her and that is not me even being biased, it's the truth. Nombuso truly has me wrapped around her fingers and she has no idea.
If she ever asked me to get her something, anything, I'd do it for her no questions asked. She is yet to know how much power she possesses over me and that I'd jump at all her requests, never asking how high. But only time will tell and hopefully we get to last because I have no plans on letting her go, ever.
"We may go now.", she giggles as she stands on her tippy toes giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"After you my lady.", I say putting my hand on the small of her back.
We lock all the doors of the house and get into the car driving off. I put on a little music as we get stuck in traffic since I know she's not a fan of having conversations early in the morning. 'Bits And Pieces' by JP Cooper sounds from the speakers and I pray that she's listening to the lyrics of the song.
'I was in bits
I was in pieces
Covered in silence and concrete
People walked by
No one could hear me
Nobody knows what's underneathSomehow, you found me
And now you're patching up the cracks and holes
Filling in the gaps with gold
You said you never giving up on me
I see your fingerprints are on my soul
Filling in the gaps with gold
You said you never giving up on me
