We pulled up in front of the restaurant, it was The Edge, my favorite. Of course he knew that though, I made him take me there a million times. I wonder if there's a reason to him bring me to my favorite restaurant, wearing my favorite tux he owns, along with my favorite color covering his tie.
"I figured you would want to go to .."
I quickly jumped in, "My favorite restaurant. This is way too much."
He looked down at my hands, picking up the one that had the charm bracelet draped on it. He was shaking really bad, just like the day he had asked me out.
"What is it?" I asked, gripping myself to him.
He pushed my hair back with his spare hand, "God, you look so beautiful."
"Bray, what is it?"
He took his hand from my hair and placed it around my waist, his grip was more loose than usual.
"Please?"
He took a deep breath, "Sweet heart, There's a problem with my heart."
I laughed, for he couldn't have been telling the truth. His heart is just weak, it's not that bad.
He looked down at me, confused about something, "Oh K, I wish I was joking."
I stopped, I gripped onto his hand as a tear rolled down my face. Sorry Brynn, but this makeup is going to run straight off my face.
"Do you remember how I collapsed at my game a few months ago?" He asked, stroking my hair with his shaky hands.
I couldn't say anything now, I was crying more than I had ever before. I simply nodded my head. I put it down on his chest, I could feel his heart beat start to slow down.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He said, I could feel a tear hit the top of my head. "My doctor said I have about a 2 months before it stops completely this time."
I could feel my head start to get a little light, as if the air from my head just spilled through my ears like a balloon.
"I'm really sor.."
"Can we just forget it for tonight? I just .. I need to have you here one more night. Just you and your amazingly beautiful heart."
He took his hands and wrapped them both around me, bringing me closer in.
"Let's go, my love. Tonight is ours and I'm here for it all. Take my hand young lady, I'm all yours."
