I walked up to him, careful not to come off too strong. His face was red, covered with marks indicating he's been wiping tears away. His hands looked pale, clenched tightly to theirselves.
"Chance, are you um.." I placed my hand on his shoulder, only to have if pushed off seconds later.
He walked away from me, only to stand two feet away, "I can't talk about it Khloe. I just .. I can't."
I walked up and wrapped my arms around him, making sure he didn't push me away again. His muscles loosened suddenly, his body falling into mine. He was shaking and his tears were starting to soak up my shirt, I could feel the moisture seeping through, embracing my shoulder.
"It's okay, what ever this is will turn out fine in the end." I said sitting down on the nearby bench. He put his head behind me, probably because he didn't want me to see him cry. He's always been the strong one, his shoulder was always the shoulder I would cry on, it was never the other way around because he never cried.
I looked over and I couldn't see Brayden, he had left me with a crying Chance.
"Khloe, I can't go home. I need to go somewhere else." He said, hand clenched to my left shoulder, opposite of which he was sitting.
I don't know if I should ask him why, for he was really upset and already said he couldn't talk about it. But at this moment, I felt as if asking him would be one of the worst things to do.
"Chance, just sleep at my place. My parents won't mind." I said, leaning my head on his hand. "Besides, they look at you as a son anyways."
He took his head up more, bringing it up so high that he was kissing the top of my head, "Thank you gorgeous, I don't know .. I don't know what I would do without you."
"Okay big guy," I said, grabbing his hands from my shoulder and standing up. "Where's your car? You aren't driving me home like this."
I pulled his arms, dragging him up. He stood up and hugged me. "It's over by the theater."
"Is it bad to say that part of me loves you like this. You're so huggy." I said, hugging him back.
He pulled away and put his arm around me, "Nope. But I'll just hug you more so you don't wish for me to be this upset."
I laughed and wrapped my arms around his torso, he felt really squishy. It felt like I was embracing a big marshmallow with arms and legs. I started to lead him to the door, his feet getting tangled in mine almost every step, causing the both of us the trip.
"Have you been skipping the gym big guy?" I giggled. He started laughing a little, I could still feel tears dropping into my head.
"My mom cancelled my membership." He said, forcing a laugh.
I looked up and his face was holding a smile, but when you know him as well as I do, you know it's not an actual smile.
*an hour later*
"Okay, if In-n-Out doesn't make you smile, what will?" I said, getting out of the car with our box full of fries and cheeseburgers. The aroma of the two was filling my nose, tempting me to put it in my mouth.
Chance walked up, sticking his stubby fingers into the fries. "I think I'm gonna eat some." With that, he stuck a handful of the fries into his mouth.
I stared at him with disgust, for his mouth was overflowing with my fries.
"Here," he said as he stuck his hand in the fries again. "Do you want some?"
I opened my mouth, implying that I wanted some.
"Okay," he said. He took his hand full of fries and smushed it on my face, "I think that made me feel a lot better."
"CHANCE! IM GOING TO KILL YOU!" I yelled, spitting some of it in his face. He laughed and wiped it off, some of it flying onto my face.
He started running, right towards my garage that I had opened moments before. I saw his green shirt disappear through the door.
"Chance, I swear. You better not run away from me." I yelled, for I felt like I was to drop the food.
I started laughing and quickly walked inside, locking his car on the way in.
