Six years later
"Are you sure you don't want any coffee?" Brayden said over the phone, sounding quite persistent as if he had already gotten some. He pulled into Starbucks, a daily run for the both of us. Caffeine is our life support, without it, we would be passed out on the floor somewhere.
I looked down at my watch, a leather strip of fabric with a mini silver clock on the top of it. "Maybe you should get me one, I don't know if I'll be able to survive today without a caramel macchiato."
I could hear him laughing on the other end of the phone, "I already ordered one for you, it's right outside your door."
I looked out my window, all the way from the second floor, I could see his broken down, rusty, blue car sitting in my driveway. I couldn't see him by my door though. Maybe he had just walked around or my mom let him in because she happened to hear him pull in. I turned around and walked towards my door, but all of a sudden my feet flew up from behind me and I could see every little piece of my carpet smushed up on my glasses. I didn't take notice of my endless amounts of books lying on my floor, all from when I decided to spend the day at the bookstore with my grandma. She likes to take me out every year before my birthday and take me shopping, but this year I had decided to go to Barnes & Noble with her because I have a feeling my closet will be satisfied soon enough by my parents.
All of a sudden my door swung open, revealing my coffee baring boyfriend. "Are you okay?" He asked while trying to hold back the smile that was trying with all its might to inch it's way out upon his face.
I reached up for his hand, but my coffee had taken residence in it, the situation was biter sweet. As I stood up , I noticed my glasses were now covered in dust. I guess you will never realize how dirty your floor is until you face plant into it. As I stood up, I could feel every muscle in my body cringe, making a weird noise escape from my lips. I looked at Brayden who was smiling even more now, "Wow, thanks for the help babe." I said sarcastically as I grabbed my coffee.
He started laughing, "Well I was holding your coffee. I mean, I could've dropped it and picked you up instead."
I quickly jumped in, "No, no you're fine." I took a sip after I said this. I looked up at him, his smile so bright that even if my pain was so much worse than a pain I've felt in a while, I felt as if my body was floating on air.
"Happy Birthday, my little snoopy." He said as he took something out of his pocket. It seemed to be a long, red, rectangular box with a white bow on the top.
I took it from his hand and stared at it, "I thought we agreed on not getting me a present." I looked up at him. He looked down at me still, his big eyes staring me down.
"Please, babe , if you don't open this I will cry." He said as he took a sip of my coffee. He had his puppy eyes going and I know that the only way to stop that is with a kiss and to do what he wants me to do.
So I reached up and kissed him on his pouty lips and opened the box. As the lid uncovered my present, I saw a beautiful golden bracelet. There were multiple charms on it, each a different thing.
He reached out and took the bracelet from my hand, "These are all representing the times we spent together. I cherish each of these moments and I want you to feel the way I feel about it."
I looked down and saw a pole, representing our first kiss. A car to represent when we went to a drive in, that was probably the most amazing night I'd ever had. There was also a coffee cup, to represent our daily routine.
I started crying, my tear landing right on a ring, "I had a ring put on there so that you would know that once we get out of school, I am proposing to you and making our love even more magical than it is right now."
I looked up at him, he had already placed his coffee on my desk, and took my coffee out of my hands. "I love you, Khloe. I will always love you."
He then reached down and kissed me, I pressed my body up against his and held him close. I loved him so much, and now he had proven, for sure, to loving me.
