The light from the sun was slowly turning the sky a deep orange, yellow, and the blue was not visible anymore. It was breathtaking, so much so that I can't put it into words. Looking up at it, Brayden's arms around me, my favorite tea that he makes in a mug I made at a pottery class I took a while back: it was a lot of wonderful things to take in.

Brayden is going to live.

He began to move a little, "Hey, can I talk to you?"

I nodded, for I wanted to take his voice in. It calmed me, it was like a blanket or bear to a child: a comfort object.

"Well, you see," he began. lifting his hand up to brush through his hair. "The heart wasn't exactly anonymously given to me."

I stood straighter than before, pulling away a little, "What do you mean? Who gave it to you?"

He let out a lot of the air from his body, looking a little worried to convey the news he was about to give.

"Brayden, who gave it to you?" I almost yelled, now standing over him.

He reached for my hand, "Well, you know how Chance has been having a hard time lately.."

I pulled away, making him a little worried. "Why would you.. How could you.."

I brought my hands up to my face, trying to cover my tears that are flooding from my eyes.

Brayden stood up, slowly walking towards me, "He said that he wanted to. That he was going to do it even if I refused."

I backed up, shaking my head in disbelief, "That can't be. He wouldn't do that to me."

Before he could say anything more, I turned quickly and ran into the house and slammed the door to the guest room. Chance had gone out to soccer practice, so he had his stuff laying out on the floor, left for me to lay around in.

"Khloe," Brayden yelled as he ran inside the house. "I'm sorry."

I started crying even more now, pressing my face into his shirt he was wearing last night, his scent still lingered. "But I love you.." I whispered.
