Jason's POV
Royal Star Headquarters, Ikoyi.
When my Mercedes E 350 came to a halt, I knew we had reached. Glancing at my golden rolex wristwatch-a gift from Lilly, to be sure that I wasn't late for the meeting, I sighed. Hurriedly, the driver, a young man in his thirties alighted to get the door. I waited impatiently for him as I grabbed my black Gucci leather suitcase from the seat. The door opened and I caught a glimpse of the Royal Star Tower, I didn't forget my glasses which I slipped on to avoid the media. Placing my feet on the floor to reveal my Vero Cuio shoes, then I stepped out of the car.
Luckily for me, today was a very quiet day, no media at all. Taking one last quick glance at the mighty empire that stood before me, I nodded slowly with a sharp breath. Then I started walking, without sparing the driver who was probably bowing as usual, a glance.
Once I entered the huge building, eyes fell on me. This was something I was more than used to. Feeling confident and proud, I smirked taking off my sunglasses to feed those eyes. As I walked through the reception, heads bowed, some interns stopping in their tracks while others cleared the way. Others who were at work sat up, pretending to be extra diligent.
Again, I glanced at my wristwatch and my pace quickened. The chairman mustn't get to the meeting before me. Ignoring the lady at the front desk who was definitely drooling, I walked past her desk to the VIP elevator and pressed the button.
Once I got to thirty eighth floor, I pressed the button and the doors came open. Stepping out, the first person I saw was my secretary who sat at her desk right in front of my office. She had all her attention focused on her system as she typed on it. As I got closer, she turned and I knew that my cologne announced my presence.
"Good morning Sir." She greeted me with a huge grin plastered on her face, getting up from her seat and that was when I noticed she was wearing a red blouse with cream stripes and long fitted red skirt and black leather wedge sandals. My eyes roamed up again, I noticed the rim of her glasses had been changed to black and that her hair was packed in a messy bun.
I heard her clear her throat and I looked up slowly, itching the side of my lips. Was it that obvious I was checking her out? She was blushing and she wasn't even hiding it, her fair skin made it more obvious. I dropped my bag on her desk.
"Umm sir... Here is... Umm. That file, the one..."
Janet always had a thing for me, we've been working together for three years now and she's made it known that she has something for me. She's beautiful but I don't feel a thing for her.
In order to lighten the atmosphere and not worsen the tension, I looked down to the file in her hand. Slowly, I collected it.
I saw the look of relief on her face and that huge grin was back again.
We are not going to focus if she keeps smiling like a five year old.
"Janet get it together, details." My deep voice called her out of her world.
She gasped in realisation, her face becoming more pink from embarrassment.
Without waiting for her, I dipped my left hand in my pocket holding the file in my other hand as I made my way to the conference room which was down the hall. From the corner of my eye, I saw her hit her forehead with her palm. Really? I scoffed, fighting the urge to roll my eyes at her childishness.
