FINAL CHAPTER!!!🎊

JASON'S POV

The door flew open, Mabel
and I looked toward the direction impulsively. Lilly stormed in, smiling widely as she rushed to our side. Of course, my mother walked in gracefully, the aura of her perfume mixing with the clean air.

Lilly jumped on me where I sat, giving me a tight choking hug.

"I can't believe you get to come home today." She squealed. "Finally!" She jumped to her feet, twirling and doing a dance that she probably learned on TikTok.

"Hi sis." She proceeded to hug Mabel when she had calmed down, placing a kiss on her cheek. "You look good, how's my little niece doing?" She rubbed her tommy.

Excitedly, Mabel laughed. "The baby is doing okay. You're in a really good mood Lilly."

"Good morning mum." I stood on my feet, legs wobbly. My mother smiled heartily, hugging me gently.

"I prayed for this day to come, everyday for the last few minutes." She whispered into my neck, releasing me from the hug and holding my hands. "This is such a beautiful day, you get to come home to the family, we'll be one complete, happy family again."

A pang tore through my heart as I forced a smile. My mother really has no idea what transpired between me and my father.

Releasing me from her grasp, my mother skipped to Mabel's side, giving her a warm embrace and joining in on the small talk that she was having with Lilly.

"Oh my God! You two are so cute for real." My little sister gushed, cooing like a cute puppy. I glanced at her, shaking my head at her childishness.
"I remember when you two used to bicker and fight,"

My mother opened her mouth, shocked at Lilly's words.

Lilly nodded. "Oh yes mom, they even slept in separate rooms but now they're having a baby, a baby!"

"Lilly..." Mabel blushed, embarrassed.

"Sis, remember when I asked you to give him a chance," her eyes danced around playfully, brow raised. Mabel rolled her eyes. "Thank you so much for giving my unromantic workaholic brother a chance." Lilly joked, bursting into laughter the same time as Mabel.

Amusedly, my mother shook her head and left their side and walked up to me.

She wore a serious look on her face, sighing deeply when she came to my side.

"Home is where the heart is, and I know that Mabel is your home. I also know that you can always start afresh with her, somewhere else that'll be faraway from sky house." Her eyes peered into mine. "Infact, I have a feeling that is what you want."

Clenching my jaws, I thought through my next words.

"I'm not going back to that place mom. I'm not going back to Royal Stars mom, I'm not going back to the life I had before, I don't want any of it. I just want to be Jason and be happy with the love of my life."

My mother nodded. "I know. I know deeply how you wish to escape this life and be free from your father's sick ambitions but I also know that you love your father and you've always wanted nothing more than to prove your loyalty and show him how much of a better man you've become. I know that everything you did, you did to earn his respect."

"And where did that get me?" I gazed at my mother with fierce eyes of anger. Her gaze on me was soft. "I'm tired of his sick games mom. I'm tired of living by his terms, I want a life of my own."

My mother nodded in agreement. "I know, that's why this could be a fresh start for you and him."

Casually shrugging my shoulders, I dipped both of my hands into the pocket of my sweatpants.
