I'm so excited, we haven't heard Jason tell the story in a while.
Happy birthday to me 😘
This chapter is a gift, cos it's my birthday 🎈🎈🎈🎈💃💃💃Jason's POV
Mabel dazzled, taking my breath away in that dress. The way it hugged her curves so perfectly, made me feel like I was in a frenzy. When we made our way through the noisy reporters and my fingers grazed her back, I felt her body stiffen against mine. If I could do it again, I'd want to feel her all over me.Climbing the stage, Mabel embodied poise. In that moment I realized how lucky I was to have her, but then again I knew I didn't deserve her. The way she gazed into my dark orbs, fluttered my heart. She looked into my soul and I knew she drew strength from me. I was undeserving of her.
Concluding her speech, I applauded her. Mabel was becoming the person she wanted to be, and maybe if she looked deeper, she'd find the purpose she was looking for. Again, my heart beat tripled as I thought of my plans for tonight.
Leading her out of the hall with a hand on her waist, we posed for a few pictures at the red carpet. I heard her breaths come out in small ragged pants and I knew my touch still had an effect on her.
Unlike Mabel, she didn't protest or complain or quiz me after I told the driver to turn. I knew she had questions and I was prepared for the answers.
The car halted and without glancing, I knew we had arrived our destination. Alighting the car, I held out the door for Mabel who stepped out. Hearing her gasp and rub her hands around her arm, I realized she was cold. The breeze blew strong, chill and cold just like the tension between us. Impulsively, I undid the buttons of my jacket and stepped behind her. After getting a view of her perfect tanned back, I slid the jacket on, straightening the shoulders with my palm. The car drove off through the driveway as we entered the tower through the front glass doors.
Entering into the elevator, we stood apart. Mabel never let our eyes meet. We were playing a game of stealing glances. Her innocent brown orbs would stare at my face and when I looked, she would dart her gaze elsewhere. We were avoiding the elephant in the room.
Chiming, the door of the elevator opened to reveal the rooftop. There were coloured scented candles, arranged side by side, to create a path in the middle. Mabel fixed her eyes on me this time, looking around. She followed the path that led her to a table, that had two wine glasses. I had outdone myself this time, I instructed them to install more lights, to lit up the night so I could see her face even in the dark. From here we had a wonderful view of the city, even more beautiful because it was night.
Mabel stood, transfixed.
"What is this?" She asked, pointing at the table, to the scented candles and flowers scattered around. I couldn't tell if she was angry or disappointed.
Stepping closer, I held out her chair. "Dinner. I wanted us to have dinner together."
After glancing at my face which was close enough to feel the heat from her, she reluctantly propped down. I sat down across her.
Pouring some wine into her glass, the red liquid bubbled up against the glass. I poured myself some wine, placing the bottle on the table.
Mabel picked up her glass, the wine sloshing as she tossed the glass from side to side. Her lips parted as she rested her back against the chair.
"What do you want Jason?" She narrowed her eyes at me, squinting those innocent eyes into a sexy one.
Ignoring her question, I decided to start a conversation. "You look very beautiful Mabel." Watching her face turn pale red at my comment, made my heart content. I still had an effect on her "Tonight." I added, making my voice sound raspy. Mabel tore her gaze away, raising her glass to her lips and taking a sip of her wine.
